7-Day 6 Night Cultural, Panoramic and Big 5 Safari
Day 1 Arrival and transfer for Johannesburg to Lesedi African Lodge and Cultural village. (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) You will be collected in JHB by your cultural guide and transferred to Lesedi African Lodge and Cultural village. On arrival at Lesedi in the late afternoon, guests are welcomed in the traditional African way with a suitable escort to ‘their’ village. Once settled in comfortable, traditionally styled rooms, guests will then have the opportunity of discovering the many colourful and fascinating aspects of the cultures of the people of Lesedi. You are then treated to a Pan African Buffet in the Nyama Choma Restaurant – “The Greatest African Feast” Day 2 Full day tour of Soweto and Pretoria (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) In the morning after awakening to the sounds of traditional maskande guitar or squash-box, a full English breakfast is served in the restaurant. Your cultural guide will collect you to embark on a full day tour of Soweto and Pretoria. In SOWETO you will visit the Hector Pieterson Museum, walk down the route of the 1976 student uprising, see The only street in the World where “two” Nobel Peace Prize winners where neighbours! Visit the Regina Mundi Church, largest African Catholic community in Africa. We then travel to Pretoria, the Presidential Capital of South Africa, we proceed to the Union Buildings, do a drive past Paul Kruger House, the first ZAR President, we view Church Square where the famous Nelson Mandela court case took place. We drive through Pretoria where your guide will point out interesting way points with facts. We end the day at the Voortrekker Monument to view the Afrikaner history. Arriving at hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night. (Lunch will be for guest own account). Day 3 This morning your guide will collect you to embark on a full day tour of the panoramic route on your way to the a Private game reserve. On route we will travel through Long Tom Pass, stop at Blyde River Canyon, (third largest canyon in the world) see the Three Rondavels, Visit: Bourke’s Luck, Wonder View, Pinnacle Rock, Lisbon Falls, Bridal Falls, Mac-Mac Falls. Time permitting we visit Pilgrims Rest (the old diamond town from the 18th century). You arrive at the 4 star game lodge at approx17h00 and check in for the night with an amazing dinner. Day 4 We them leave to visit the Moholoholo wildlife rehabilitation centre where you will be able to see the animals up close and maybe get to touch and interact with some of them. We then depart for the Kruger national park stopping for refreshments and lunch along the way. We arrive at the gate of the park and transfer you to a specially designed 4 x 4 safari vehicle game viewing begins as soon as we enter the gates, and we look for Giraffe, Zebra and various antelope species on our way to the camp in afternoon. We check in. Day 5 & 6 Kruger National Park (Brunch, Dinner& Bed) We rise before the sun and embark on a full day game drive in the Kruger National Park in search of the Big 5 – Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino. These are known to be the 5 most dangerous animals to hunt, but we get to view them up close from the safety of an open 4 x 4 safari vehicle. During the hottest part of the day, we stop at one of the camps to have lunch. In the afternoon we depart on another game drive for yet another brilliant wildlife experience lead by your guide. We return to the camp for Dinner. A Bush Walk or night drive can be arranged during these days (optional extras) Day 7 Last Game drive and route back to Johannesburg this morning we head out on a final early morning game drive in search of game that may have eluded us thus far. Breakfast in the restaurant back at your camp, and we leave the Kruger National Park and back to Johannesburg or Nelspruit International Airport.
