Land transfer from BALIKPAPAN to LOA JANAN. On board to houseboat, for upstream Mahakam river to MUARA MUNTAI. Our houseboat will move during day and night. Many traditional villages on the river bank and local activities you could see along the way.
Early morning arrive in MUARA MUNTAI. Transfer by motorized canoe to cross the vast Jempang Lake and small river on the way to MANCONG (will combine with land transport via TANJUNG ISUY, if the water level not permitted). Upon arrival experience the welcome ceremony (see note: 4), visit the grand traditional Long House of BENUAQ DAYAK’s Tribe. Afterwards return to MUARA MUNTAI and downstream to TENGGARONG. Read more
Morning arrival at LEKAQ KIDAU a Kenyah dayak tribe village, after short walking on the village will continue downstream to TENGGARONG. Visiting the Mulawarman Museum the former Royal Palace of Kutai Kingdom. Direct transfer by car to SAMBOJA LODGE, greet and meet with the Staff. All the activity is handling by Staff. Read more

This area is strictly for the orangutans survival foundation, which has been developing since 1992 in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. I just wanted to say thank you for the great tour that you organized recently for my 4 friends from Australia to see the orangutans in Kalimantan. They had a fantastic time. Their guide, boat crew, and boat were all excellent. I’m looking forward to being able to do the trip myself in the future.
We wanted to thank you for the great trip we had. Jumri, Firman and Mr. Udin made our trip more than worthwhile. They were very helpful in every kind of way. We had lots of fun. The forest where we went was so beautiful and the lodge also. After the trip to the destination, a meal was prepared by Mr. Udins wife who is a great cook! Even with our special diet, she surprised us with every meal! Of course seeing the orangutan in the wild is only to dream about but the whole stay made it so special. The lodge, the crew, the sounds, the animals, the super nice lunch we had on the way back and the interesting conversations we had. Every track we made was one to remember. We could do nothing than to recommend this trip to everyone interested in seeing the forest with all his animals and flora living there.
