More information

  • ETHICAL KILIMANJARO CLIMB
  • We are doing ethical climbs and responsible Trekking; we believe the tourism industry has an obligation and a great opportunity to protect the world‟s natural habitats, cultural heritage sites, and communities. We actively promote environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
  • We are not doing cheap Climb, cheap climb means we are doing tourism while exploiting our Porters who are the ones who make Kilimanjaro trek possible for the vast majority of climbers, and who do all the heavy lifting. Fair and ethical treatment of our porters (crew) is one of the important priorities of Eco-Africa Climbing when we do climb.
  • Guidelines for tipping are as follows
  • Guide – $15 to $20 per day
  • Assistant Guide – $10 to 15 per day
  • Cook– $10 to $15 per day
  • Porters – $5 to $8 per day per porter
  • These tips are paid as a group rather than by each climber. For example, in a group of 5 climbers, each climber would contribute $3 – $4/day for the guide’s tip.

The tour we took with Eco-Africa climbing was actually one of our best experiences during our holiday. Frederick was a wonderful host - very helpful, very friendly and with his eco-african colleague and driver Freddie he gave us some Tanzanian memories we will never forget. He took us to local restaurants and bars, showed us Moshi and drove us to town whenever we needed to go. In the weekend he arranged a trip to Marangu. In the evening we cooked chagga (the local tribe) - food (pork with fried green bananas and salad) great to taste! and next days we went on a coffee-tour to see how you cultivated, dry and roast your own coffebeans, next we went to an underground chagga-cave and last we went to see a very beautiful waterfall! Everything was very well-arranged, and we will definitely recommend everyone to book their kilimanjaro trek, safari, or maybe just a day-tour with the Eco-african company! Read more

My friend and I climbed the Kilimanjaro with Eco-Africa travel tours. They are very efficient and engaging, we were able to climb the day after we signed the contract. Also, the climbing was good as well. The guides, porters and cook were doing a wonderful job helping us make to the top. I would recommend using this tour agency for your travel to Kilimanjaro.
