At 13.00, meet your guide and driver for half day sight-seeing trip in Bangkok and China Town. Visit the hidden highlights of Bangkok’s Chinatown by foot. This walking tour is more relaxing and intimate than cycling and perfect for photographers. The tour stroll through historic Chinatown, one of the largest and most authentic in the world. Here, Sino-Thai culture has been evolving since the beginning of the Chakri dynasty over 200 years ago. Explore alleyways and passages so small even bicycles cannot pass. Get a behind the scenes view of life in this bustling community, where encounters with busy marketplaces, religious shrines, and smiling faces performing their daily routines will stimulate all your senses. Then visit the world famous Temple of the Golden Buddha, the world's largest solid gold Buddha image. Made of about 83% pure gold and weighing in at five and a half tons, the 15-foot tall seated image is worth millions of dollars at today's gold prices. Upon arrival at Chiang Mai train station, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel in Chiang Mai. Relax on your own leisure. Pick up at 13.30 by English speaking guide and go to visit Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most important and famous temple in Chiang Mai. Driving up 3,500 feet above sea level to the sacred temple of Doi Suthep. You then ascend up the 306 steps to the temple gateway which guarded by two splendid Nagas (serpents). Walk around the grounds of Doi Suthep past golden pillars, six foot gongs and rows of bells. Wat Prathat Doi Suthep was built in 1383, is the symbol of Chiang Mai. Containing the holy relic of the Lord Buddha which is enshrined in the magnificent golden pagoda that can be seen for miles around. A panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside can be seen from the temple grounds. Transfer back to hotel. 19h00 : Transfer from the hotel for Khantoke Dinner. 19h15 : Relax in an informal atmosphere whilst dining on delicious Northern Thai Cuisine called “Khantoke” signifying a Pedestal Wooden or Rattan Tray used for serving food by Lanna Thai peple. 20h00 : During the meal, a Traditional Northern Musical ensemble will play soothing music while charming dancers will entertain you with the Fingernail Dance, Dandle Dance, Sword Dance and Ramwong or Thai Dance. There’s also a selection of Hill Tribes Dances performed by the Akha, Yao, Lisu and Karen tribes rounds up this entertaining evening. At the end of the show if you get the urge, let’s join Ramwong Dance which’s great fun to try! 21h00 : Transfer back to the hotel. Read more
08h00: Pick up from your hotel by guide, heading to the northern part of Chiang Mai. 08h30: Make the first stop at the Orchids & Butterflies Farm along the way. 09h00: Continue driving another half an hour along a pleasant and scenic road to Chiang Dao Elephant camp, the first Elephant training camp of Chiang Mai , established since 1969. 10h00: Watch an Elephant’s bathing in the river Ping, the main river of Chiang Mai but from a very beginning. 10h15: Next is the main part of the show which’s a demonstration of how these magnificent animals trained to work for timber industry by pushing, dragging and rolling logs by following the command of their mahouts. 11h00: After this is a time to excite the Elephant Ride for approximately one hour through the lush jungle to the Lisu Hill Tribe Village, the place where you can purchase some local crafts from Lisu tribe as souvenirs as well as to support the local economy, then another half an hour riding back to the camp (if it’s not during the rainy season, when the river’s quite shallow the Elephants will walk through the river back). 12h30: Then, have a lovely delicious Thai food as lunch local restaurant. 13h30: After lunch, enjoy an hour Bamboo Rafting trip along a beautiful and pleasant Mae Ping River. 15h00: Proceed to Fang and check in at Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel. Spend an entire afternoon to cycle around, visiting local temples and community. 18h30: Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Read more
06h00: Leave from the hotel to visit a morning local market in Fang town. Explore around the fresh market to buy some ready cooked food, fruits, drinks and flowers as an alms offering. 07h00: Breakfast at the hotel. 08h00: Transfer by a pick-up truck on the off-road uphill to Doi Pu Muen for about an hour. Doi Pu Muen is a mountain and highland which is 1,306 meters above sea level with cooling temperatures almost all year round. 09h00: Arrive Doi Pu Muen. Get around seeing the village of Lahu, the Christian Tribe who mainly grows tea and coffee as their cash crops. Visit tea plantations and have fun learning how to pick tea leaves like a local, as well as heat and dry the tea leaves also taste some good tea from Lahu people. 11h30: Then, leave the village by truck to Pu Muen Waterfall. 12h00: Enjoy tasting a very special Bamboo lunch. 13h00: Transfer Back to Phumanee by truck and then minivan back to Chiang Mai. 17h00: Arrive Chiang Mai and transfer to your hotel.
