Day 2: Transfer from Entebbe or Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park common for its diversity of wildlife, open Savannah, Rain forest, dense swamps, and beautiful crater lakes.
Day 3: Early in the morning after breakfast, drive to the grazing ground of the Uganda Kob for a game drive in search for lions in their natural habitat, as well as elephants, buffaloes and many more. You will return to the lodge for mid/ morning breakfast, you will have time to relax as you wait for your lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel the waterway that joins Lake Edward to Lake George and see the hippos in big numbers, the buffaloes, with elephants before you return to the lodge for dinner and the night. Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking In Kyambura Gorge Queen Elizabeth National Park After another early morning game drive, today we drive to Kyambura Gorge which is a home to the chimpanzees for trekking. You can expect to see more than the chimpanzees as there are lots of other primates like the Black and white Columbus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas, Lion and many others in the middle of savannah grassland. This gorge is a home of very many bird species and therefore a good place for the bird lovers to visit fro birding. Read more
Day 5: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi passing via Ishasha and having a game Bwindi drive. Your Driver Guide may recommend Packed lunch depending on the days travel plan. Depart for Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park via Imaramagambo Forest. Enjoy a game drive in search of the iconic Tree climbing Lions. Read more
Day 6: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking D-day to enjoy gorilla tracking in Bwindi; After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip- Gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We trek the gorillas through the bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silver back, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. When the gorillas are sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 meters from the gorillas, sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes. Gorilla trekking is unpredictable. It’s difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. The gorilla excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Expect to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. A good physical condition is recommended. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. A ranger will brief you on how to behave with the gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge. Read more
Day 7: Head to Lake Mburo National Park You will wake up early and drive through twisted and winding roads, and lake dotted countryside, before you get to the lower thorn and savannah scrub lands of Lake Mburo National Park. Mburo is one part in the country with noticeably different fauna compared to other reserves for example the widespread acacia woodland which makes it the best place in the country to see the gargantuan eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. The five lakes within the park are home to a hippo population of hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds, while swamps hide enigmatic papyrus specialists like the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek. After an early morning breakfast enjoy a Nature Walk to the Salt Lick Head out for a nature walk to the salt lick and here you will see lots of animals when they have come to lick the salts. A walk to the nearby salt lick is a summary of your trip to Lake Mburo but this is done without the animal’s conscience as they may run away if they sense danger from the humans. The trip of a lifetime! We just returned from 10 days Safari and it was just wonderful. Uganda had all the activities we wished for and Home To Africa Tours & Travel had an affordable itinerary that did not disappoint. Elias and Paul met us at the airport and made sure we were looked after and comfortable for the entire trip. Paul is an excellent and knowledgeable guide and very good at spotting animals. We saw the big five animals and so many more and enjoyed multiple game drives and boat rides. Each of the five national parks we visited had their own atmosphere and attributes and we loved them all. This itinerary required many hours of road travel but there was so much to see while riding through the countryside. It was endlessly interesting to see the trading centers, homes, people, and especially the friendly children of Uganda. We particularly enjoyed the game drives and were amazed at all the animal sightings. Our lodgings were comfortable with good food and we did not have to worry about a thing as Paul is an experienced guide and led us along on a trip we will never forget. Home To Africa Tours arranged the next leg of our trip to Victoria Falls which was a sight to see and those plans all fell into place without a hitch. My mind is still so full from all the things I learned on this trip and I have over 300 photos to enjoy. Overall we were very happy with our family vacation with Home to Africa tours and travel. It was planned according to our wishes and we saw, experienced and tasted more than we had ever hoped for (thank you for the unexpected, fantastic birthday and graduation cakes!). The parks, trekking, animals, people, markets, scenery, food and experiences were all wonderful, not to mention the rafting. The lodgings were at times a bit simpler than we'd hoped for but worked out for us anyway. Our guide was very knowledgeable regardless whether it came to animals, history, agriculture, nature, politics, really anything. Unfortunately he was short tempered with little patience and at times put a damper on the atmosphere. All in all we are very happy with our trip to Uganda and have managed to raise a lot of interest from friends and colleagues. Read more
