One of the tourist attractions of the south western region of Madagascar is "the Tsingy of Bemaraha", the karstic massif (with the sharp peaks), declared world heritage by unesco in 1990. To get there, you have to run on a very bad track. Its discovery is often combined with a Tsiribihina River tour (traditional pirogue or motorboat), amazing landscape. The adventure does not end there, you will also climb the peak bobby, Mada's roof.

After breakfast, you will leave Antananarivo Merina country and drive to Antsirabe, across the mountain range Ankaratra, whose highest peak rises to 2644m. On the hillsides, terraces rice fields disclaim their range of green. On the way, you will make a stop in Ambatolampy to visit a recycling aluminum foundry. You will continue the road after the visit. From Antsirabe, you will take a fork to the southwest towards Miandrivazo. In the morning you will drive to Masekampy, place of embarkation, located 30 km from Miandrivazo. You will embark on a canoe and start the descent of the Tsiribihina River for 145 km. The wide course of the river, tinged red shades of laterite, offers a range of landscapes in perpetual motion in this astonishing Tsiribihina River tour. The banks and sandbars, small atolls in the middle of the river, are all beaches and stops to camp or explore the banks. Gradually Tsiribihina creeps into the plateau of Bemaraha where it digs deep gorges, deep. The cliffs of the walls are covered with lush vegetation untouched by the bushfires. You will begin the descent calmly on the majestic Tsiribihina River tour. You will enjoy a beautiful landscape and many species of wildlife such as herons, wild ducks, parrots, raptors, sailors, chameleons, insects and butterflies. In the afternoon, after a full day experience of the Tsiribihina River tour, a camp will be set up on a sandbank. At dinner time, you could enjoy your meal by listening to the sounds of the river and watching the sun go down. After breakfast, you will continue your Tsiribihina River tour descending through the Massif of Bemaraha. It overflows with a fantastic landscape, deciduous forest with its lemurs and the marvelous sounds of birds. We will have a shower under the best waterfall of Madagascar: “Anosin’ Ampela” and its natural swimming-pool followed by a picnic. While on this Tsiribihina River tour you will see towering cliffs, baobab forests and lush vegetation along the riverbanks. The region of Antsingy benefited from the status of strict nature reserve (access limited to researchers) until August 1997, when the Malagasy state created the National Park Tsingy of Bemaraha. This wonderful site has been ranked on the list of Unesco World Heritage in 1990. With an area of over 150,000 ha, it includes a strict nature reserve to the north and an area of 72 000 ha open to visitors, south. Two areas are open to the public; the small Tsingy sector extends a few hundred meters from the village of Bekopaka and big Tsingy highlight of the visit, located 17 km from the first track. Visits to the Tsingy of Bemaraha will be adapted to the physical conditions of each and require the assistance of a local guide and respect for "Fady" (taboo) premises. After breakfast, you will leave Morondava and go to Antsirabe through the Bongolava turbulent terrain and extensive bare patches. You will reach Antsirabe late in the afternoon. Overnight in a hotel and prepare for the Ambalavao tour the following day.
In the morning, you will leave Antsirabe and go on a Ambalavao tour. You will make a stop in Ambositra, a pleasant city known as the mecca of the Madagascan handicrafts; it owes its renown to wooden sculpture and marquetry, know-how of Zafimaniry people. You will visit a workshop as well as showroom for finished products. You will then continue for the Ambalavao tour that you will reach in the afternoon. Ambalavao is known for its famous Antemoro paper. You will visit an Antemoro craft paper factory whose traditional factoring process would have Arab origins. A 3 days / 2 nights hike in the Andringitra National Park will begin here. In the morning, after the Ambalavao tour, you head to Andringitra by 4WD that will run through the beautiful scenery of the Malagasy highland (rice terraces, traditional villages, and tombs on the cliffs ....). After three hours, you will be in Namoly Valley. The 4WD will take you to the car park after check-in formality (ticket, guide, porter…). Before continuing, you will have lunch. After breakfast at the camp, you will leave for the Ascension of the Pic Boby, the second highest summit and accessible of the country with its granite massifs. You will back to Andreampotsy camp for the lunch before to continue the trek. After lunch, you will leave the camp and walk through vast plates in a loss of sight before boarding and join the beautiful and magical lunar landscape (Diavolana). After breakfast; you will continue the downhill. You have a beautiful view of the cliff and Tsaranoro Valley. Before to live Ranomafana and drive to Ambositra; you will join the Ranomafana National Park for a walking tour that will allow you to discover this enchanting place. Ranomafana, a whole forest park, spreads on 41,601 ha. It was classified UNESCO World Natural Heritage of the Atsinanana in 2007. It shelters a big wealth in endemic biodiversity but in danger. We can see the rare species there and seriously threatened lemurs. The park is also the genetic reservoir of some rare and endemic plant species.
