Simply to speak of Cartagena is to evoke the whole colonial history of the country. Considered as the main port of the Indies, it was the most besieged and tormented by pirates, who wanted to claim the city as their own.

Time for Lunch- And then we will continue the second part as a walking tour by the Walled City
Visit: Santa Domingo square; it has a very colonial architecture, Baluarte San Francisco Javier; it was built in 1630 to safeguard the land from pirates attacks, Customs square; it was the mansion of the founder of Cartagena “Pedro de Heredia” and there is also a monument of Christopher Columbus who discovered America, Museum of the inquisition - It was the scenery for Spanish Catholic speakers to executed and torture the people who were mistrusted of anti-Catholicism, San Pedro Claver Palace, Clock tower; Is the most representative symbol and the main entrance of the walled city.
