Firstly you go up to the Corcovado, worldly known symbol of Rio. Once up there, take the time to appreciate the unique and amazing panoramic view of the "cidade maravilhosa" (wonderful city). Then way back down via Santa Teresa, which used to be one of the wealthiest residential neighborhoods of Rio, when the town was the capital of Brazil and all the principal institutions were located there. Santa Teresa shelters a diverse population in the bohemian quarter of the modern Rio. Walk through this area to get a taste of its quaint and old atmosphere. During the trip to Lapa, visit the colored stairs or "Escadaria do Convento da Santa Teresa", decorated by Jorge Selarón. You will continue in the Rio’s city center, from a colossal avenue framed by imposing glass buildings to quaint, small streets and their little affordable shops. You will start the visit with the impressive botanical garden, proudness of the cariocas. Each of the 141 hectares of the park hosts species of the brazilian and world flora. The imperial palm trees, main attraction of the garden, were seeded under the order of the regent prince Dom Joao VI in 1809. centenary trees, orchids, vtorias regia, bromeliads, flamboyants in an atmosphere filled with tropical scents. Then transfer to Urca. Later, take the cable cart to the summit of the Sugarloaf (el. 400 m.a.s.l.), another Rio´s symbol which marks the entrance of the Bay of Guanabara. Read more
Private transfer to the airport. Flight from Rio de Janeiro. Pick up at the Iguassu airport and transfer to the hotel. In a private vehicle, you will head to the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Park and admire a wondeful panoramic view. The Iguaçu national park, 185,000 acres, was classified as a Natural Heritage site by the UNESCO. You will pass hundreds of small falls before reaching the last one, Floriano Fall. From this one you will have an arresting panoramic view over the "Devil’s Canyon", in front of you. Return towards Foz de Iguaçu. Meet your English-speaking guide at your hotel. Transfer to the Argentinean side of the park. Stop at the symbolic panoramic point on three borders: Paraguay - Brazil - Argentina. Visit of the falls from the Argentina side, from where you will get closer to the water, and of the impressive "Devil’s Canyon" under your feet. You will take a small motorboat to go from Barreirinhas to Atins on the Preguiças River. After a quick stop at the “pequenos Lençóis” (a smaller version of the Lençóis Maranhenses Park), you will go up the Mandacaru lighthouse to enjoy a panoramic view of the region. Departure at 8h00 from your hotel towards the Lençóis Maranhenses Park. After a short 4WD ride to Canto do Atins, you will walk approximately 50 minutes between sand dunes and lagoons and eventually reach the Lagoa Verde. Departure for a short boat ride to Caburé. You will take a 4WD to Tutoia and again a motorboat to cross the Delta of Parnaíba and enjoy its fauna (birds, monkeys, and caimans), before reaching Canárias Island, Poldros Island or at Tatus Harbor depending on the hotel.
Transfer from Delta of Parnaíba to Barra Grande, a peaceful village famous for the Kitesurf. Free afternoon to enjoy the atmosphere of Barra Grande.
Canoeing with the sea horses and wild birds though the Camurupim and Cardoso river. On your way, you can watch diferents types of mangroves and endemic crabs. You will eventually arrive at seahorses sanctuary, where you can fish them for a quick observation before releasing them on their natural habitat. Return to the hotel on a local chariot. Read more
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Barra Grande to Jericoacoara. You will cross rivers, take a bath in the Lagoa Torta lagoon and enjoy the over the water hammocks. You will arrive at Barra Grande seaside village. n.b. 3 hours’ transfer.
Departure at 9h00 for a buggy excursion with a local driver to the Lagoa Azul and the Lagoa do Paraíso. You will make a stop at the Pedra Furada (holed stone) and the Árvore da Preguiça (laziness tree) to take some pictures. You will then follow to the lagoons to swim and enjoy the hammocks.
