ITINERARY
DAY 1
Araba border-Wadi Rum-Little
Our representative will be there to welcome you as you arrive at Wadi Araba Border. Proceed to the desert of Wadi Rum, a stupendous, timeless place, virtually untouched by humanity and its destructive forces. Here, it is the weather and winds that have carved the imposing, towering skyscrapers, so elegantly described by T.E. Lawrence as “vast, echoing and God-like…” A 2-hour Jeep ride will take you deep into the Jordanian Desert where you will discover many scriptures and drawings of past civilizations carved into the stone 4000 years ago. Then we will take you to an area of pale honey colored rock – Al Beidha in Arabic, ‘the white one’. Here in the 1st century AD the Nabataeans established a commercial suburb, a place for trading caravans to stop en route between south Arabia and the Mediterranean. DAY 2
Petra full day visit -Petra
Proceed to visit the city of the Nabateans- Petra, one of the 7 world wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the city through 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colours and formations of the rocks. The site is massive, and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets. Lunch at a local restaurant in Petra. DAY 3
Petra – Araba border
Breakfast at the hotel main restaurant. Return to Wadi Araba at whatever time suits your plans. Hope to see you again soon!
