At the higher end of the mid-range scale, this short but sweet tour gives you the chance to partake in one of nature's greatest experiences; Gorilla tracking. Unlike other itineraries of this nature, this tour has a relaxed and laid back feel to it, where you are not rushing around trying to meet deadlines. It is possible to add a safari, to either Queen Elizabeth NP or Lake Mburo to this itinerary. Ask our regional experts for more information.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport You will be met by your guide, briefed about your upcoming journey and transferred to your lodge. We feel it's best to stay in Entebbe after your flight, the last thing you want to do after a long flight is go on another long car journey. This boutique lodge less than 10 minutes from the airport is the perfect place to relax. If you arrive early there are many excursions available in Entebbe, and great places to eat, ask your regional expert for more information. Read more
After your breakfast at the lodge, you will make the long drive down to Bwindi, stopping along the way for lunch and at the equator. The drive can be long but interesting as you pass through towns and villages alike watching people go about their daily lives, and the views aren't bad either especially the closer you get to Bwindi. Your lodge is in an excellent location, just outside the park and raised up to make the most of the spectacular view down the valley, over the dense jungle. Read more
After an early breakfast you will set off on the unforgettable experience that is Mountain Gorilla tracking. After trekking through the dense forest to where the Gorillas were found the day before, you begin your tracking, searching for the largest primate in the world. Upon sighting them, you will stay with them for one hour as they eat, rest and bond with their young. To reach them it can take anywhere between 30 mins to 4 hours, so be prepared for a long trek through the humid rain-forest. Afterwards, you will spend the afternoon relaxing and taking in your beautiful surroundings. Read more
After your morning overlooking Bwindi, you will then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which offers beautiful views and is the perfect place to relax after your Gorilla tracking. Your lodge boasts an excellent menu for you to choose from in the evening.
After soaking up the morning views and having your breakfast, you will transfer back to Entebbe ready to catch your evening flight home. If you can't arrange an evening flight home then we can arrange an extra nights stay in Entebbe for you.

I would like to congratulate you for the very good trip you organized for the five of us. The driver, Herbert, was excellent, careful and full of attention, very punctual and always ready to satisfy us. He was always the first one to see the animals. We have been very lucky - leopard (2) - a female lion with 3 little ones - 6 sleepy lions - lions in the trees, gorillas after a walk of only 20 minutes, elephants, hippos etc.... We had a 6-day safari in Uganda arranged by Ben Tinsley at East African Discovery in late November 2016. It exceeded all expectations for value for money, accommodation, variety of scenery and sights, and quality of the driver/guide. We have travelled extensively including in other parts of East Africa. Uganda is truly special. We appreciated that the company is locally owned, with excellent local intelligence and experience in the tourism and game tracking fields in Uganda. We liked that the company is small, offering bespoke safaris rather than off-the-shelf itineraries. Ben responded to all queries and requests promptly during the planning stage and no question was too silly to ask. Our driver/guide was prompt, organised, informative, and friendly - he had grown up in a part of the country that we visited so his local knowledge was particularly good. The chimpanzee and gorilla tracking were experiences of a lifetime. Everything went off without a hitch. The pricing of EAD was considerably better than that offered for similar safaris by the larger outfits. We would recommend EAD without reservation. Read more
