Kathmandu Tour

Breakfast at hotel and then head for a Kathmandu tour included Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square. KATHMANDU D. SQUARE: Kathmandu Durbar Square is the spectacular example of architecture and Newari artist in Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu Durbar Square is historic place of royals where the kings in the past were crowned. It is crowded with ancient temples and palaces that reflect the royal history and religious and cultural life of people. The tallest temple of Kathmandu valley 'Taleju Bhawani' at the northern side of the palace was built in 1501 by Ratna Malla, the first king of the independent Kathmandu city. Kasthamandap, an open wood house, Kumari (living goddess) house, Jagannath temple with erotic carvings, and the Hanuman Dhoka (the royal palace) are situated in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Presently, the square is known as Hanuman Dhoka, a name derived from the status of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord Ram, near the entrance of the palace. Continue the Kathmandu tour heading to SWAYAMBHUNATH STUPA, which is said to be around 2000 years old, this Buddhist Stupa sits atop a hill. The main stupa is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire crowned by a pinnacle of Copper gilt. Painted on the four sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The hill of Swayambhunath is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples. You’ll get a scenic view of Kathmandu city from there. The next destination on the Kathmandu tour is PATAN D. SQUARE, located about 5 km south of Kathmandu, Patan is one of 3 royal cities in the valley. A destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, Patan is filled with wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture, including dozens of Buddhist and Hindu temples, and over 1200 monuments. Patan is believed to have been built in the third century B.C. by the Kirat dynasty later expanded and enriched by the Licchavi and the Malla rulers in the medieval period. Patan Durbar Square, like its counterpart in Kathmandu, is an enchanting mélange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former Royal palace complex is the centre of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a beautiful museum. Overnight stay at hotel Read more

Kathmandu Tour

Breakfast at hotel and then continue the Kathmandu tour visiting the Pashupatinath Temple then Bouddhanath Stupa and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE: The temple of Pashupatinath is Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine and one of the subcontinent's great Shiva sites. Pashupatinath, beside the sacred Bagmati River, is the holiest place in Nepal. Pashupatinath's supreme holiness has two major parts. One is that Shiva ling enshrined in the main temple and its location on the banks of Bagmati. Hindu devotees plunge into the holy Bagmati River daily and recite the verse from the ancient Vedas. It is believed that plunging or bathing into the holy river releases from the cycle of rebirth. It is believed that sex organ of Shiva fell to Nepal. The main temple of Pashupatinath (meaning Lord of Beasts believed to be divine protector of Nepal) contains a lingam of Pashupati which is three and a half feet high and has four faces sculptured on it. The next stop on the Kathmandu tour is BOUDDHANATH STUPA, which is considered to be is the biggest stupa in Nepal and lies about 7 km east of the capital. The Bouddhanath stupa, also called by many as Khasti Chitya, is one of the oldest stupas in the country. After 1959, many Tibetans arrived and settled in Bouddhanath area. The stupa, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site, is included in World Heritage Cultural site list by UNESCO. With diameter of about 100m and 40m height, Bouddhanath holds its place among the largest stupas in the world. The Bouddhanath stupa covers a vast area. It has a round path at the bottom while another path is made of three-tier plinth. The stupa resembles Swayambhunath stupa to some extent. The most impressive part of the stupa is the eyes of the Buddha which are painted with red, white and blue colors. BHAKTAPUR D. SQUARE: Also known as city of devotees, Bhaktapur is the home of medieval art and architecture. Lying 14 kilometers/9 miles east of Kathmandu City, this place was founded in the 9th Century and is shaped like a conch shell. The city is at the height of 4,600 ft. above sea level. In Bhadgaon, you will visit the Durbar Square with the Palace of 55 windows built by King Bhupatindra Malla. The famous five-storied Nyatapola temple on the terraces of which stands a pair of figures - two goddesses, two strong men, two elephants, two lions and two griffins is the tallest temple in the valley and was also built by King Bhupatindra Malla. It is one of the best examples of Pagoda styled temples. Overnight stay at hotel, ending here the Kathmandu tour. Read more

In this Pokhara Valley tour you will discover a land of spectacular beauty crowned by the majestic Himalayas, conjures visions of calm but vibrant green hills. Loaded with luxuriant vegetation and dotted with shimmering lakes, the valley offers awesome vistas. Magnificent image of Mount Machhapuchhare reflected in the clear waters of the Lake Phewa leaves everyone spellbound. One of the Nepal’s adventure hubs, it has reputation of being the second home for the tourists worldwide. Its rich topographical conditions are responsible for the profusion of flora and fauna. The geographical location has made Pokhara one of the biggest valleys in Nepal. The valley is encircled by lush green hills ranging in height from 1077 meters in the South East of 2738 meters in the North East. Snow clad mountains add a special radiance to the valley. They also form snow-fed rivers that run through the heart of the valley. The geographical studies reveal that centuries ago a glacier was formed in the valley. Pokhra - Sarankot-Pokhra

After an amazing experience in the Pokhara Valley tour, the next day, early morning you will be driven to Sarangkot [approx. 30 minutes’ drive under normal road condition]. From Sarangkot you can witness the breathtaking sunrise view and the also get to see the Annapurna range from a very close distance. SARANGKOT: Sarangkot is the most popular tourist destination from where the tourist can enjoy the great view of the Pokhara Valley and the magnificent view of the mountains. Sarangkot is only 5 km from Lake Side, Pokhara. Sarangkot is the highest view point for a sunrise and it is just 1592m high. Sarangkot is 5 degrees cooler than Pokhara. Sarangkot can be reached easily by 45 minutes by a car ride to the top from Pokhara and then 45 minutes hike up to the main view point. Many tourists come to Sarangkot for sunrise view and go back after few hours but it will be good if tourist stay there for one night and enjoy the view and city light of Pokhara from Sarangkot. Paragliding can also be done from Sarangkot. From Sarangkot, on the northern direction we can see Dhaulagiri in the far west. Annapurna range is visible when the weather is clear on the same side. After breakfast at the hotel and visit to Davi’s fall, Gupteshwor Cave and Bindabasini Temple DAVI’S FALL: The original name for the waterfall is Patale Chhango. On July 31st 1961 a Swiss husband and wife were swimming just up from the waterfalls. The woman, Mrs. Davis, was pulled by the current and fell to her death down the waterfall. Her body was found after a large effort. Since then the waterfall has been called Davis Falls. However, due to Nepalese spelling and pronunciation her name often translates to Devis. Dev is a common name in Nepal similar also to the name of the Buddha's mother, Maya Devi. Indeed on the street gate leading to the waterfalls is a sign saying "Devis Falls" and a lot of maps also say "Devis Falls." There are also some rumors saying it was her husband and not her that died that day. However all evidence suggests it was a woman with the surname Davis. GUPTESHWOR CAVE: Located in the south-east at Chhorepatan, Pokhara, the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is considered 599 years old. While the young local people went deeper, they found out that an idol-like object resembling Lord Shiva had formed naturally on the spot. Later on, it was taken to be Lord Shiva and the local people formally consecrated and installed it at the mouth of the cave in 1992. The long flights of stairs wind down to the temple of Lord Shiva where the lord balanced on a raised platform fenced by iron bars can be seen. The cave is musty and damp but a string of electric light bulbs emits enough light to see the stairs clearly. Most of the time one needs to bend down until one has passed through the 50 meters long tunnel. Once one has passed through the tunnel, there is a huge open cavern with enormous rocks, no trace of soil at all, only little pebbles scattered everywhere. On the right hand side there is a deep gorge. After a few yards of scrambling through the darkness, there is a crystal clear pond and from here one can see the awe-inspiring Patale Chhango (Devi’s falls) falling right from the top. BINDABASINI TEMPLE: Bindabasini Temple is one of the most popular shrines among the Hindu's people. Locally, this temple is called Bindabasini Mandir. This temple is located on the hilltop and is at 3000 meters from the sea level. This temple is white pagoda styled and is located in the old bazaar of the Pokhara valley. This temple is devoted to the Hindu goddess Durga also known as Shakti or Maa Kali the symbol or the blood thirsty aspect of the goddess Durga. There is the daily worshiping up to 9 days during the greatest festival of the Hindus i.e. Bada Dashain as it is the victory of the truth over the untruth or the demons. So, the sacrifice is given to the goddess on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Just at the opposite side of the Bindabasini Temple, there is another temple called Krishna Mandir where the annual birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated on the day called Krishna Janmaaastami. Other rituals such as marriage, Barta-Bandha are held on this religious shrine. And the scented fragrances of “Dhup” give the fresh and the cool environment. Overnight at Hotel Read more
