7 Days - Rwanda Highlights

7 Days - Rwanda Highlights

Arrive in Kigali

You will be met by your guide at the airport, briefed about your upcoming safari then transferred to your 5* Hotel, which was the set for the 2004 Hollywood film "Hotel Rwanda", where you will enjoy one of their panoramic view rooms. There are plenty of great places to eat in Kigali and your guide can recommend somewhere for you upon your arrival. Read more

Hotel Des Mille Collines

City Tour and Nyungwe

After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and go on a city tour, visiting the genocide memorial which is a 'must-do' for any trip to Rwanda. There you will learn about the tragic history of this beautiful country and also get to see how the country has recovered since, which with the help of international aid has been remarkable. After grabbing your early lunch at one of the many restaurants you have to choose from, you will drive south for around 4-5 hours to one of the most deserted parts of Rwanda, Nyungwe Forest National Park. Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel

Chimp Tracking

Today you have the option of whether you would like to track mans closest relative, the Chimpanzee or go on a canopy walk to make the most of the spectacular views. The Chimpanzee tracking can be extremely strenuous, ascending and descending hundreds of meters in search of the Chimps, so this is the option we recommend for the extremely fit of you. The canopy walk is much more relaxed and you get the fabulous experience of being among the tree tops whilst taking in the breathtaking views, so this is the option we recommend for those looking for a more laid back time. It is possible to do both, so speak to our regional experts for more information. Read more

East African Discovery organised an excellent trip away for the 5 of us, they were able to sort everything we wanted for the duration of the holiday. We had a superb trip away and would recommend booking with them. Our trip was tailor made from the start, with communication over email being a stress-free experience. Hopefully we will use you again, to return to the excellent gorilla trek. Thanks East African Discovery. Read more

I would like to congratulate you for the very good trip you organized for the five of us. The driver, Herbert, was excellent, careful and full of attention, very punctual and always ready to satisfy us. He was always the first one to see the animals. We have been very lucky - leopard (2) - a female lion with 3 little ones - 6 sleepy lions - lions in the trees, gorillas after a walk of only 20 minutes, elephants, hippos etc.... The lodges were all excellent and full of charm; we enjoyed them very much. I shall not fail to recommend your company. Read more

We had a 6-day safari in Uganda arranged by Ben Tinsley at East African Discovery in late November 2016. It exceeded all expectations for value for money, accommodation, variety of scenery and sights, and quality of the driver/guide. We have travelled extensively including in other parts of East Africa. Uganda is truly special. We appreciated that the company is locally owned, with excellent local intelligence and experience in the tourism and game tracking fields in Uganda. We liked that the company is small, offering bespoke safaris rather than off-the-shelf itineraries. Ben responded to all queries and requests promptly during the planning stage and no question was too silly to ask. Our driver/guide was prompt, organised, informative, and friendly - he had grown up in a part of the country that we visited so his local knowledge was particularly good. The chimpanzee and gorilla tracking were experiences of a lifetime. Everything went off without a hitch. The pricing of EAD was considerably better than that offered for similar safaris by the larger outfits. We would recommend EAD without reservation. Read more
