Siem Reap Arrival

Welcome to Cambodia. Upon arrival in Siem Reap obtain your Cambodian visa, if you haven't already. Clear Immigration and Customs and proceed into the arrival area. Meet your private guide and driver to check in your hotel.

Ta Prohm&Banteay Srei Temple

This morning is free relaxed at hotel as your leisure time. Today we start to visit Ta Prohm Temple. This fairly large temple is hugely atmospheric due to the fact that it has been left untouched rather than being restored. The jungle has reclaimed the temple, with huge tree trunks and vines snaking around the centuries-old stone work. Here you can get a feeling of how the first European explorers would have found the ruins. Lunch will be local restaurant. In the afternoon as sunset approaches continue to BanteaySrei, Angkor's ultimate art gallery. This petite pink temple is the jewel in the crown of Angkor-era sculpture. The elaborate carvings here are the finest found in Cambodia and the name translates as ‘Fortress of the Women', thanks to the intricate detail here, considered too fine for the hands of a man. Originally believed to date from the latter part of the Angkor period, inscriptions at the site suggest it was built by a Brahman in 967. However, some architectural historians have suggested that the inscriptions may date from an earlier structure on this site and the temple is in fact later, marking a high-water mark in Khmer sculpture. Great Lake- Tonle Sap

After breakfast we travel to the edge of Lake Tonle Sap, and embark on a small wooden boat for the trip to KompongPluk. Cruise down a narrow waterway and enter this medieval floating village, where the houses stand on stilts as high as seven meters above the water. Everything lives on the water, pigs, dogs, crocodiles and people, all jockeying for space in this incredible floating town. Visit the local temple before boarding a bigger boat to take us through the flooded forest and across the Great Lake to Chong Kneas, where we head back to Siem Reap by road. This afternoon is free as your leisure time. Evening welcome dinner: This evening you will be taken for a special Khmer dinner with Apsara dance show. Robam Tep Apsara is the title of a Khmer classical dance created by the Royal Ballet of Cambodia in the mid-20th century under the patronage of Queen Sisowath Kossamak. Read more

Sunrise AngkorWat&AngkorThom

This morning before sunrise, depart the hotel for Angkor Wat, the largest and most breathtaking monument at Angkor. Built as the funerary temple for Suryavarman II, who ruled from 1112 to 1152, Angkor never fails to reward the first time or repeat visitor with its grand scale, surreal bas reliefs and unbelievable attention to detail. Here, you will spend the morning exploring one of man's most magnificent creations before returning to the hotel for a late breakfast and free relax. This afternoon we visit Angkor Thom (Big Angkor) - is a walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian Empire. After Jayavarman VII recaptured the badly damaged Angkorian capital from the Cham invaders in 1181, he began a massive building campaign across the empire, constructing Angkor Thom as his new capital city. He began with existing structures such as Baphuon and Phimeanakas and built a grand enclosed city around them, adding the outer wall and some of Angkor's greatest temples including his state-temple, Bayon, set at the centre of the city. There are five entrances (gates) to the city, one for each cardinal point, and the victory gate leading to the Royal Palace area. Each gate, as well as much of Jayavarman VII's architecture is crowned with four giant faces. The giant stone faces of Bayon have become one of the most recognizable images connected to classic Khmer art and architecture.
