DAY 1
Arrival at Salvador
Upon arrival, meet and greet with our guide and transfer in air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Our guide will already give you some basic information about your present destination. Check-in formalities and overnight.

Historical city tour
The tour starts with the Barra Lighthouse, one of the city’s main landmarks. We continue through through the Corredor da Vitória, Campo Grande and Piedade to arrive at Salvador’s Upper City (Cidade Alta). The highlight of this tour Is a visit of the Pelourinho, classified as world heritage site by Unesco in 1985. Pelourinho, holds most of the city’s historical monuments; cathedrals, churches, convents, and buildings, music is always somewhere around the corner and you will stumble upon many an exotic street scene strolling along its paved streets or over its ancient squares.. First, we will a visit to Pelourinho, which is considered to be the most important architectural complex dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Transfer to Chapada Diamantina
Early morning private transfer from your hotel to the bus station in Salvador. Then, regular (contact us for private transfer) bus to Lençois, gateway to the Chapada Diamantina. Don't let the 7 hour drive put you off! The drive, some 420 km inland Bahia state, is in a comfortable, air conditioned bus which is generally not packed (avoid national holidays). Drivers respect the road code and the bus has 3 rest-stops, one of them in Feira de Santana, renowned for its cattle auctions. After this city, you will already start to see the Chapada Diamantina looming in the distance and getting closer by the minute. Arrival at the bus station in Chapada Diamantina, meet and great by our representative and regular half day walking tour through the Chapada Diamatina with visits to: Piscinas do Serrano, Cachoeirinha, Salão de areias coloridas, Cachoeira da Primavera, Poço Halley e Ribeirão do meio.
