08:30 In the morning we drive West to Viñales valley, encircled by mountains and its landscape is interspersed with dramatic rocky outcrops. Traditional techniques are still in use for agricultural production, particularly of tobacco. The quality of this cultural landscape is enhanced by the vernacular architecture of its farms and villages, where a rich multi-ethnic society survives, illustrating the cultural development of the islands of the Caribbean, and of Cuba. 11:30 Visit to Los Jazmines lookout, the world wide known panoramic view of Vinales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 12:00 Lunch included at the organic farm El Paraiso. Unique place for its beauty, quality of Cuban food and the fruits, vegetables, tubers for consumption that are cropped there. 14:00 Eco-touristic trail “Del Paraíso al Silencio”. The trip includes three very interesting places from private owners, which are examples of rational use of land. One is related to traditional crops, the other to tobacco and the third has to do with the spread of agro-ecological techniques and the rational use of crops in a small area. It all takes place in a welcoming environment, where brown and gray colors prevail (plowed and worked lands) and green (growing crops and tress bordering the properties), among small ponds. 09:00 Sightseeing to the places where the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway lived and to visit other sites he used to go to and where many of his most renowned works were later set. On foot we will discover the fishermen’s village, Cojimar, where Hemingway found the inspiration for “The Old Man and the Sea. We will then continue onto La Vigía Farmhouse to visit the residence of the renowned American writer. 12:00 Visit to La Bodeguita del Medio, we will celebrate with one of the most famous cocktail in the world, the Mojito, acclimated by Cuban traditional music. 08:30 In the morning we drive Est to the city of Santa Clara, capital of central Cuba. There will visit the Plaza Ernesto Che Guevara, a meeting with one of the most prominent and charismatic personalities of contemporary world history, and where are located the Museum and the Memorial with his name. Lunch in a local restaurant 14:30 We will then continue onto the Sugar Mills Valley, a remarkable testimony to the development of the sugar industry. A living museum of Cuban sugar production, it includes the sites of 75 former cane sugar mills, plantation houses, barracks and other facilities related to this vulnerable industry, which has witnessed a gradual and progressive decline. 15:30 Visit to the San Isidro de los Destiladeros archaeological site. Considered one of the sites of greater archaeological, architectural and cultural interest of the Valle de los Ingenios. 08:30 This full-day excursion is one the most popular activity in Varadero. Setting sail from the Marina Chapelin, a large and comfortable catamaran will take you off-shore to enjoy the beauty of the turquoise waters surrounding the Varadero peninsula; you can relax on the shaded areas or on the nets as you glide gently over the waves. The first stop is a coral reef where you can enjoy snorkeling (equipment is provided), then the catamaran drops anchor off the gorgeous and virgin beach of Cayo Blanco (a small deserted island) where you will enjoy a delicious lunch with several options (lobster, fish, shrimp, squid, chicken, etc.) while listening to the sound of live traditional Cuban music, and have free time to swim in the ocean, play games, do some non-motorized water sports, or simply relax on the beach.
