Day 1. (10/08) Bishkek city – Kara Bulak Eco Resort – Bishkek city. (60 km / 1 hour) Arrival in Bishkek early in the morning. Upon arrival at the International Airport Manas you will be met by our tourist guide at arrival gates. Transfer to the city will take 30-40 min. Hotel check-in (early check-in is included into the tour cost) After a restful morning and breakfast at the hotel we drive around 30 km out of Bishkek to Kara Bulak Eco Resort. Easy hikes around the area. You will also have an opportunity to watch “shyrdak show” (felt production demonstration) and learn types of traditional carpets. You can even take part in Ala Kiyiz making yourself! Lunch in Eco Resort. Heading back to Bishkek for sightseeing tour, which includes: the Monument of Kyrgyz National hero Manas, Changing of Guards of Honor (if it´s possible), Kurmanjan Datka Monument. Day 2. (05/08) Bishkek – Burana tower – Cholpon Ata town. (260 km / 5-6 hours) After breakfast transfer to Cholpon Ata. En route you will visit Burana Tower, this ancient city, formerly called Balasagun, was the capital of Central Asia in the 11th (UNESCO). Upon arrival you visit Cholpon Ata open air museum “Petroglyphs” and Ethnographic Museum in Cholpon Ata town. Issyk Kul Lake has a tectonic origin. It is a second largest alpine lake in the world after Titicaca located in South America. Its length reaches 182 km, and width is 58 km, maximum depth is up to 668 m. During the summer period the water reaches up to 20-25Co Cholpon Ata Petroglyphs site is – a large open-air collection of rock carvings sometimes referred to as a Stone Garden, which covers some 42 hectares and contains a number of prehistoric monumental structures (stone circles, tombs, the remains of a boundary stone wall, Balbals) and Petroglyphs (dating from the II millennium BC thru the Middle Ages and up to the VI century AD). The stones have plaques giving some information (a short description and a date), and there are several routes marked with arrows around the “stone garden.” The shortest route in the Stone Garden takes 20-30 minutes. But there is a longer route to the upper side of the museum, which enables visitors to explore a collection of stone Balbals, stone inscriptions, stone circles and … a spectacular panorama of the Cholpon-Ata bay of Lake Issyk Kul. Optionally: Boat cruise at Issyk Kul Lake. You will be inspired by captivating view of the lake surrounded by mountains. Great opportunity to take thousands of memorable pictures. Day 3. (06/08) Cholpon Ata – Tamchy – Cholpon Ata. (80 km / 1-2 hours) After breakfast we go to Tamchy for National Horse Games Festival. Demonstration of hunting with a Golden Eagle; show of Kyrgyz national games “Ulak-Tartysh” and “Tyiyn-Enmei”. Have lunch in Tamchy. After festival we return to hotel. Free time for a walk and swim. Day 4. (07/08) Cholpon Ata town – Karkara valley via Grigorievka gorge. (220 km /4-5 hours) After breakfast we drive to Karkara valley with visit to Grigorievka gorge. Grigorevka is the best known of the beautiful gorges on the north shore of Issyk-Kul, in the Kungey Ala-Too Mountains. After hiking, drive to Karkara valley. Upon arrival, get accommodation in a base camp of Karkara valley. After accommodation horseback riding 2 hours around area. Base Camp “Karkara” is situated in a picturesque gorge its slopes are covered with fir and juniper trees and at the Eastern border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in Kar-Kara gorge. Day 5. (08/08) Karkara valley – Karakol town via Tepke farm. (130 km / 3-4 hours) After breakfast transfer to the village Tepke where you can see the farm horses, cows and sheep and walk around. Lunch at the farm by the river Jyrgalan. You can ride the best horses in the stable Moment of relaxation on the farm. Afrer go to Karakol. Karakol – is a small but very interesting town with traditional Russian architecture. It was established in the middle of 19th century and became an important garrison settlement in the territory of Issyk Kul region. On the way just 10 km before the town you visit the museum of Prjevalsky. After excursion you drive last 10 km to the town. After excursion you will have sightseeing tour in the town. You visit Dungan Mosque, Russian Orthodox Church and local historical museum. After excursion you drive to hotel, accommodation in a local hotel. Day 6. (09/08) Karakol town – Bokonbaev village. (135 km / 2.5 – 3 hours) Breakfast. Drive to Bokonbaevo village. On the way you can visit Skazka Canyon. The Skazka Canyon is an area with many geological features and crazy rock formations. Walking around is magical. Bokonbaevo is a picturesque village on the south shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. It is located in the middle between the Terskey Ala-Too Mountains and the shore of Issyk-Kul, Bokonbaevo draws in visitors with its combination of natural beauty and traditional Kyrgyz character. Day 7. (10/08) Birds of Prey Festival all day. After breakfast we leave for Birds of Prey Festival. Demonstration of hunting with a Golden Eagle; folklore show; exhibition and sale of handicrafts and souvenirs; tasting of Kyrgyz cuisine. Day 8. (11/08) Bokonbaev village – Son Kul lake. (270 km/ 4-5 hour) After breakfast, transfer to Lake Son Kul by the south shore of Lake Issyk Kul. The road goes through Kochkor village where we will stop for lunch in a local family. Then pass by the pass Kalmak Achu (3447m). Lake Son-Kul is still far away but getting closer and closer it will become bigger and on our passages several herds of cattle with their shepherds. Day 9. (12/08) Son Kul Lake – Bishkek city. (350 km/ 5-6 hour) After breakfast, we will take the road to the city of Bishkek. We descend by 33 Parrots pass. Lunch at the Boom Gorge in a local cafe. Easy walk in the canyons of Konorchek which are reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in Colorado, where you can admire unique landscapes – eolian Castles. These sandstone rocks in the form of mysterious figures, the nature have created by means of wind, rain and sun. Some of them look like castles, animals, amazing arches and even people. All of these figures have a wonderful background – landscapes worth taking pictures of. + 300m -300m of unevenness Upon arrival in Bishkek. Accommodation in hotel. Dinner in local cafe. At dinner we will meet professional musicians, who will demonstrate the traditional musical instruments and play Kyrgyz melodies. Overnight in hotel.
