Formed by an ancient volcano and famous for its coffee and tea plantations, the Bolaven Plateau is home to a number of tribal villages, some of them still practicing Stone Age techniques including the use of extremely primitive agricultural tools and animal sacrifices in an animist belief system. Enjoy a full-day tour of the area starting with the Tad Lo Waterfall, a series of three falls named Tad Suong, Tad Lo and Tad Hang. Continue to the Tad Fane Waterfalls where lunch is served in this scenic location. Beyond the waterfall stretches the extensive jungle of Dong Hua Sao from where the perfectly synchronized twin falls originates and drop down a 200m (656ft) gorge. Walk to the impressive 42m (138ft) Tad Yeung Waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation. End the day with a visit to a tea and coffee plantation and learn why the Bolaven Plateau is an ideal area to grow these crops. Later, drive to Ban Kiet Ngong and stay overnight at Kingfisher Ecolodge after enjoying a delightful set dinner. Kingfisher Ecolodge is a small lodge situated in an idyllic location adjacent to the Kiet Ngong Ramsar Protected Wetlands where you can often see Buffalo and Elephants walking through the long grass. Depart Kingfisher lodge at 9am. We begin by taking a walk up to Phou Asa and admire the panoramic views of the Kiat Ngong Wetland and village. Walk to see the footprint cave about 2km further on and continue about 3 hours more to our lunch stop at a great view point overlooking the Mekong River valley and lowlands. Along the way our skilled guides will highlight points of interest in the forest and demonstrate the uses of certain items including cooking in bamboo. After lunch continue enjoying the view as we continue walking to Chan Deang waterfall about 5km further and our camp for the night. We should arrive about at 3pm and begin setting up the camp. You can help or our guides will do it for you. Our local guides will prepare you a tasty dinner while you relax the meantime, depending on the season take the chance of a cooling dip in the waterfall. Read more
This morning your guides will prepare breakfast for you at 7:30am, after breakfast we will walk 1km up to a little hill to a viewpoint and have a short break before continuing for other 4km to reach our picnic point at Mak Fang, after a delightful picnic and rest we walk back through the forest back to the lodge arriving at approximately 4pm. Tonight dine in style at Kingfisher Ecolodge in your own exclusive private candlelight Sala. As the light descends, candles and torches will light your way and you can relax to the sounds of nature surrounding the beautiful Kiet Ngong protected wetland area with the ominous Bolaven Plateau as this evening’s backdrop. You will be presented with a pre-selected menu consisting of local delights accompanied by free flow house wine local beer or Soft drinks. You can remain to enjoy this romantic setting as long as you wish before departing back to your room at leisure. Read more
After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to the 4,000 Islands and board a long-tail boat to the island of Don Khone on the Mekong River. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch followed by a walking tour of the island, visit to the Liphi Waterfalls, nicknamed the “Corridor of the Devil”, a natural border between Laos and Cambodia. Later, explore the island on foot. Once a small French settlement, Don Khone features some colonial-era buildings including an old pier, a railway station, a former French hospital building and the maritime office. Read more
This morning, board another boat back to the mainland and transfer to Voeunkham, stop en-route to visit the Khone Phapheng Waterfalls, a highlight of southern Laos, covering an impressive 10km (6mi) stretch of the Mekong. Arrive at the Cambodia / Laos international border for immigration processing, and say goodbye to our Lao guide and driver who have supported us along the way. After clearing immigration meet your guide and transfer to a small village where we will board a boat and head up river to the village of Preh Rumkel where you can take a kayak and paddle to see the Irrawaddy Dolphins that make their home in the deep pools found on the Cambodian Side of the border. After lunch you will continue your kayak to Ou Svay, kayak through the flooded forests a Ramsar Wetland which supports a large variety of birds along the river. Enjoy the remoteness of the area and feeling of being completely at one with nature. Once you begin kayaking, the scenery is immediately dramatic and shows many large trees sticking out of the water with their roots grown into the direction of the Mekong currents. The small islands appear everywhere around. In the wet season the water levels are higher and you will not see many islands. Your trip will end at Ou Svay where your vehicle will transfer you to Ratanakiri. We will arrive there around 6pm. Read more
Today, travel north to Veun Sai passing through several villages including those of the Tampou (Tampoun) people. Board a wooden boat and cruise up the Sesan River to Khoa Piek village. Upon arrival, stroll through the local village of the Katcha ethnicity and visit the burial ground with its many statues, believed to act as guardians after their death. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning by boat to Vouen Sai and then back to Banlung. Read more
After breakfast, visit Banlung market until the time comes to board our transport to Siem Reap, which will take around 7 hours’ drive, stopping along the way for lunch. Arrive in Siem Reap and check in to your hotel, the rest of the day is free at leisure. This evening, relax at your hotel or take a walk to the ‘Pub Street’ area of Siem Reap with its array of bars and great restaurants offering a mix of local and international cuisine. Read more
After breakfast, we will take a drive through the lovely countryside where we can see the traditional Khmer houses, meet friendly local inhabitants as well as see cattle in the field. From Rattanak Tey Pagoda, we will conquer Kulen Mountain by foot. After 88 steps we reach Pres Ang Chup and stop for a short break. After a well-earned rest, we continue up 100 stairs before a 4km trek to the big Nevena (Pres Ang Thom) passing the River of 1000 Lingas. Lunch will be provided at the top. After lunch we move across the plateau and trek into the jungle to visit a Bat cave and Srah Damrey. We continue on for a visit Wat Preah Kral. Return to Chumrum Yuthvakchhun to prepare dinner and overnight in a tent. Read more
After breakfast, we carry on westwards to Svey Ler. We will be rewarded with more dramatic views of Mt. Kulen and after a few ascents and descents, we’ll begin to come across Anlong Thom, Thmar Chrougn and Ta Penh villages. Enjoy a lunchbox picnic at a village before we carry on. We spend rest of the day descending on great trails to Nevenea, a new pagoda that was built in 2001-2002. We’ll spend some time at the pagoda and interact with the Khmer monks. Afterwards we head onto village footpaths, passing by a local market. At Svay Leou, there will be a bus waiting for us so we can take a rest and transfer the rest of the way to Siem Reap. Read more
After breakfast, transfer to visit Angkor Thom and Bayon Temple then continue trekking to Ta Prohm Temple and trek to Ta Nei through the trails of the Angkor forest then you will see the French dam that was built in colonial times to protect the Angkor Area. This afternoon, transfer to Bantey Srei temple which many consider to be the prettiest temple of Angkor. Read more
Early this morning, transfer to Angkor Wat for Sunrise then spend time to visit the whole complex of the Angkor Wat Temple before returning to your hotel for breakfast. Later trek though the villages along the riverbank to see the vegetable gardens in Chreav village, see local life along the way before heading to Kampong Phluk: a stilted village nestled on the edge of Tonle Sap Lake, take a boat out to the Tonle Sap before returning to the stilted house village where we can walk around and witness local living before arriving at the local pagoda from where we return by boat. Went on a day cycle trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels, opting for something different rather than the run-of-the-mill coach tours from central Saigon. This tour left the city in a premium van and stopped on the outskirts of the city in a lovely village setting, and we rode all the way to the tunnels, stopping at various scenic points along the way. A fab lunch was served for us after visiting the tunnels too. Awesome operator and a great day out! Recommended! Read more
When I booked this I couldn't find much on the internet about Indotrek. However, their service was so fantastic during the inquiry/booking process that I went for it anyway. We were a group of 4, different level of cycling skills. The whole trip was excellent. From the start, Kim and Richard in the office gave us a wonderful service. Emails were replied to quickly and spot on. All the pre-travel arrangements were excellent. On arrival, we were met by our guide, Thang, who stayed with us up to Hue. Our driver was excellent. Both friendly and knowledgeable. We could cycle as much or little as we wanted each day which was great for our different skill levels. Hotels, on the whole, were better than we expected. From Hue we flew to Hanoi and finished the trip with an overnight on a boat in Ha Long Bay - that is a must do! Overall, brilliant service, brilliant value for money. Read more

The guides and drivers were great - the guides spoke good English. We had some wonderful days cycling off the beaten track. Just what we wanted. We were not interested in just main roads and high mileage.
