The Trails of Gods (13 days)

The Trails of Gods (13 days)

We offer you to discover the most beautiful facets of Bali in 13 days, during a trip across the heart of the Balinese culture combining cultural discoveries with superb hikes.

Welcome to Bali

Welcome at Denpasar airport and transfer to Ubud, a city located north of Denpasar, in a hilly landscape of green rice fields and ravines. Ubud is famous for its paintings. Despite the exponential development of tourism in recent years, the city has preserved its tranquillity and beauty. During the welcome dinner, you will have the opportunity to meet your accompanying team. Read more

Ubud, 3 nights

Ubud, Cultural Capital City of Bali

Day of discovery of Ubud and its surroundings. In Ubud, elegant temples and palaces with carved facades line the streets. During your city walk, you will discover Puri Saren and the details of its wooden doors, Pura Saraswati and the finesse of its ornaments, Pura Puseh and its splendid sculptures and many other museums and galleries. Another tourist attraction of Ubud, slightly set back from the city centre, is the temple of "the monkey forest". Possibility, in the afternoon, to have a nice walk outside Ubud, which takes you to places where the view of the surroundings is breath-taking, as the rural landscape is preserved. Read more

Ubud, 3 nights

Meeting with a family of artists

This morning, you’ll start a walk through beautiful rice fields to Tampaksiring. A family of Balinese artists will welcome you in their traditional home and offer you a typical meal, accompanied by Balinese dances. Return to Ubud in the afternoon via the temples of Tirta Empul and Gunung Kawi.

Ubud, 3 nights

Ocean of Rice Fields

In the morning, transfer to Belimbing, a small village planted in the middle of beautiful rice fields. On the way, you will cross some of the most extraordinary rice terraces of Bali. In the afternoon, you’ll start a beautiful walk to discover the surrounding nature.

Belimbing, 1 night

From Green to Blue

Morning transfer to Pemuteran, a small seaside resort located on the northwest coast of Bali, far from the concentration of tourists. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the fine sandy beach. A real polychrome aquarium awaits you in these coral reefs! Possibility of renting a boat to observe the underwater world around the island of Menjangan, where all the richest fauna of Bali seems to have been given appointment. It is here, for example, that the rare Bali starling has found refuge. Read more

Pemuteran, 1 night

On the Hills

Short transfer to Munduk, located in a region of Bali steeped in history, considered the cradle of Balinese culture. The former Dutch settlers liked to stay here, which used to be a resort from the old colonial capital of Singaraja (on the north coast). In the early afternoon, you’ll walk around the village to discover the beauty of the surrounding nature. The surroundings of Munduk are indeed picturesque with its coffee and clove plantations near forests and waterfalls. Read more

3 Lakes

Your trek of the day will take you to Candi Kuning, along the volcanic lakes Tamblingan and Buyan. These two lakes were once a single body of water until the huge landslide of 1818 separated them permanently. This magnificent hike is a pretext to discover the local agricultural and cultural life, by following and crossing the beautiful tropical forests of the island. You’ll visit the superb Hindu-Buddhist temple of Ulun Danau. This place is enchanting, with its huge banyan tree at the entrance and its beautiful gardens. One of the temples is entrenched on a small island, and its 11-level roof is elegantly reflected in the waters of the lake. Later in the afternoon, you will take the pulse of the picturesque Bedugul market, before returning to your nearby hotel. Read more

Altitude Plantations

This morning, you’ll take the road to the caldera of Mt. Batur (1,725m), through an area famous for its coffee plantations. From Penelokan, you’ll get an exceptional view of the caldera, measuring 14 km long. This imposing size testifies to the tumultuous past of the volcano and a size that once had to exceed that of the current Agung. At your feet, you’ll discover the cone of Mount Batur in the middle of a huge caldera occupied by half by the largest lake in Bali and covered on its other half of plantations and lava fields, residues of the eruptions of 1917 and 1926. You’ll then descend into the caldera to get closer to the lava flows. Near the lake where you’ll be able to rest in anticipation of the next morning's early wake-up call, you’ll enjoy pleasant hot springs. Read more

Penelokan, 1 night

Batur Volcano

At the end of the night, you’ll start the ascent of Mount Batur. Shortly before sunrise, you’ll first reach the top of the oldest crater, then begin your descent by circling the adjacent craters and pausing near (but at a safe distance) the newest and most active crater. You’ll proceed with a visit to Bangli's Pura Kehen temple. This temple is one of the most revered in Bali. Its vegetable garden and its temple with eleven "meru" make it a place full of spirituality and traditions. Transfer to the royal baths of Tirtagangga (whose exact translation means "The waters of the Ganges"), on the southeast slopes of Agung. Officially known as Tirta Ayu, this freshwater pool complex was one of the many water palaces built by a Karangasem king. This place surrounded by beautiful rice terraced landscapes is the perfect place to relax after your hours of walking. Read more

Original Bali

The morning is devoted to a Balinese walk, through fields and rice fields, to the Bali Aga village of Tenganan, which has preserved the Balinese culture prior to the Javanese influence of the Hindu Majapahit dynasty. To preserve their village from the harmful effects of intrusion by non-Indra worshipers, all visitors are welcomed from noon to nightfall, after which everyone is asked to continue on their way. There was a time when the villagers of Tenganan would even sweep the footprints of their visitors to completely erase their arrival. Transfer then to Sidemen, one of the most beautiful valleys of Bali (many rice fields, salak plantations and weaving houses-workshops of the famous ikats...) Read more

Sidemen, 1 night

Authentic Bali

The final drive through Bali is a real highlight, as it takes you to the hillsides of the southeast of the island, which offer a superb view of both the Agung volcano and the Indian Ocean. You’ll then continue your journey to Sanur (expect checking-in in the late afternoon).

Sanur, 2 nights

Rest Day

Free day in Sanur, which is one of the oldest resorts in Bali, but has retained its charm and refinement. The beaches of Sanur stretch for several kilometres, which is ideal for a stroll along the water. The main street of Sanur is a gold mine of small stores and good restaurants. Take advantage of your free time as a couple or with your family to swim in the pool or lagoon, discover Balinese massages, stroll along the beach or in the centre... In the evening, you’ll be offered a farewell dinner by the sea. Read more
