WELCOME TO COSTA RICA
Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival at San Jose airport you will be welcomed by our representative who will escort you to your hotel in San Jose and give you your road book.

DAY 2
TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK
Early transfer to Tortuguero pier where you will take a boat to Tortugero village, across Tortugero National Park. After visiting the village of Tortuguero, transfer to the lodge. After lunch, time at leisure to enjoy the lodge facilities, or the numerous optional activities. Between June and October, you can take a night walk to witness sea turtle nesting (extra activity). DAY 3
BOAT TOUR ON THE CANALS
After breakfast, boat tour across Tortugero National Park, to discover the fauna along the way! Later you will put on some rubber boots to discover the lush flora and fauna of the rainforest. Time at leisure in the end of the day to relax by the swimming pool or enjoy the lodge facilities.

DAY 4
SOUTH CARIBBEAN COAST
After breakfast you will take a boat back to Tortuguero pier. Arrival and transfer to the car rental agency to collect your car. You will depart to Puerto Viejo, on the beautiful south Caribbean coast. Arrival at the hotel and check-in. Time at leisure to relax by the swimming pool or on the beach, or enjoy the hotel facilities. Read more

DAY 5
ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER TOUR
This morning, tour of the Jaguar Rescue Center: The Jaguar Rescue Center is a rehabilitation center for injured and abused animals. The tour will give you the chance to see the work of the employees and volunteers, and get a closer look at the wild animals of Costa Rica! Besides, the entrance fee will help the center in their actions. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the area. The best way to discover the place is on a bike! You can rent them in the village of Puerto Viejo or ask you hotel, they may have a few bikes for rent. Optionnal activities : Hike in Cahuita National Park : Cahuita National Park is a must see on the Caribbean Coast. You will have a walk on the seaside trails of the National Park, dotted with beautiful little bays, lined by coconut trees and protected by a coral reef. You can easily observe the wildlife: monkeys, birds, iguanas, raccoons, coatis, sloths and more might cross your path. Night tour in La Ceiba Reserve : : This tour starts with a delicious organic diner before going for a 2h hike across the deep forest of La Ceiba Reserve to watch the nighttime activities of nocturnal animals. Full day immersion in a Bri-Bri indigenous community : You will meet a Bri-Bri family, part of the Kekoldy community, who breeds iguanas and grows medicinal plants in their little farm. The Green Iguana is an endangered species due to intensive hunting and thanks to initiative such as this family’s, the number of green iguanas is slowly coming back to normal. You will also learn everything about cacao, a very important plant in the Bri-Bri culture due to its healing, spiritual and, of course, gustatory properties. You will end the day by going to a little waterfall in the forest to have a swim. Read more

DAY 6
SARAPIQUI
Back to Guapiles by boat, then you’ll enjoy a breakfast at a local restaurant. The car rental agent will be waiting for you at this restaurant and he’ll give you the car. On the road to the north east of Costa Rica, to reach Sarapiqui a rich agricultural area (pineapple, palm hearts, pejibaye and guanabana). Arrival at the Finca Sura, Don Rodolfo’s and Doña Rosa’s farm, where they grow pineapples and other tropical fruits, in addition of being host for tourists willing to share the life of this typical rural costarican family for a day or two. DAY 7
RAFTING AND FARM TOUR
This morning, transfer to the rafting agency’s operations center. Load up for transport to Sarapiqui River. Safety orientation and paddle instruction with professional guides. You enter the river for a delightful afternoon among the primary forest! This afternoon, Don Rodolfo will show you around his farm and you will be able to taste a few of the farm products, such as pineapple, papaya, guanabana, ect. He will also explain you the sustainable actions undertaken in the farm to combine an agricultural activity with preserving the environment. Read more

DAY 8
ARENAL VOLCANO
You will continu northward to La Fortuna, a town situated on the foot of Arenal volcano, Costa Rica´s most famous one. Even if the Arenal Volcano activity decreased over the past 4 years, some clouds of smoke can still be seen going out of the crater when the sky is clear. DAY 9
HANGING BRIDGES
In the morning, traditional farm tour: The owners will give you a tour of the farm, they will show you how to process the sugar cane with a traditional mill, and give you a few sugar cane made products for you to taste. You will then enjoy a tasty traditional lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the Hanging Bridges: the bridges are situated in a 250Ha tropical forest private natural reserve. From the bridges you will have the best point of view on the forest canopy and on Arenal Volcano. The total length of the trails is 3km, where you will cross about 15 bridges. Read more

DAY 10
OFF TO THE PACIFIC COAST
Today you will head to Nicoya Peninsula to get to the little seaside town of Samara. Arrival and check-in at the lodge. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the lodge facilities or the beach.

RELAXING TIME IN SAMARA
Day at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities, the beach or to go and explore the area. Numerous activities are offer in the area such as boat tour, surf or stand-up paddle lessons, horseback riding, sea kayaking, hiking, ect.

BACK TO SAN JOSE
You will leave Samara to head back to San Jose. Depending on the time you get to San Jose, you could visit the city center, the Gold Museum, or the central market.

DAY 13
TIME TO GO BACK HOME
Off to Juan Santamaria International Airport for you flight back home. You will drop your car off at the car rental agency situated close to the airport. A free shuttle will take you to the airport.

Quand nous étions perdu il y avait toujours quelqu'un pour nous indiquer le chemin, et même sans que nous le demandions.
