After breakfast enjoy a city tour to the capital city Amman, you will see the magnificent Roman Theatre; the theatre was built during the reign of Antonius Pius (138-161 CE) and could seat about 6000 people. Visit the Citadel and its Temple of Hercules that was built between 162 – 166 AD, the Umayyad Palace and the Archaeological and Folklore museums. Afterwards, you will enjoy a walk through the old city called “West Al Balad”. It has hundreds of shops, coffee shops and local restaurants. Then you will be taken to the ancient city of Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns of the world. Walk around the vivid remnants of past civilizations, and in the afternoon, proceed to Ajloun Castle and get lost in its vaulted passages. Dating back from the 12th century, Ajloun Castle was a military watch post built to protect the trade routes and repel the Crusaders’ threat. From the top of the castle, you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and the highlands of north Jordan. Transfer to your hotel in Amman. Read more
After breakfast we will take you to explore the holy land. Head to the Christian city of Madaba “the city of Mosaics” which has the oldest known mosaic map of the holy land. Visit St George church, its archeological park and museum. Next we will visit Mt Nebo the place where Moses spent his last days and viewed the holy land for which he could not enter. Here you can view the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho and Jerusalem. Transfer through Kings' Highway, a very spectacular route with a short photo stop at Wadi Mujib natural reserve. Read more
After breakfast, we head to visit the Nabatean Red Rose city of Petra, one of the 7 world wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the city through 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive, and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets. Continue south to the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum. Watch the sunset while drinking a cup of Bedouin tea in the desert. Read more
Don’t miss the spectacular sun rise of Wadi Rum! After breakfast a 2 hour jeep ride will take you deep into the desert, where you will discover many scriptures and drawings of past civilizations carved into the stone 4000 years ago. In the afternoon, take a hike in Wadi Rum to explore the many narrow canyons and water holes and experience the vast immensity and tranquility of the boundless empty spaces. Following this we will head to the large Red Sand Dunes amongst many other remarks. Upon completion, head to Aqaba city to enjoy your day and free time. Read more

I spent 3 weeks in the Middle East and Zaman Tours coordinated my itinerary in Jordan portion of the trip, specifically in Amman and Petra. These folks built a schedule specifically for me where I experienced the local scene in addition to all the major tourist attractions like Petra, Jaresh, the Citadel, Wadi Mujib and more. The guides and drivers were thoroughly knowledgeable, friendly and went out of their way to make this a memorable trip.
