DAY 3 - Boburu Ella waterfall / Victoria Park / Nuwara Eliya Breakfast at the hotel The beautiful Bomburu Ella Falls (also known as Perawella Falls) s a collection of about 10 little-known jungle waterfalls, situated between 1500 and 2000m above sea level in the Sita Eliya Kandapola Forest Reserve. They are served by the upper segment of the principal tributary of the Uma River, known as the Duulgala River. Bomburu fall is the widest fall in sri lanka. There is about 2/3 km hike through the forest. This water level is always changing and it’s spreading everywhere. This area is a hunting place in British era. DAY 5 - Habarana/ Pidurangala / Sigiriya Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Pidurangala Pidurangala is a massive rock formation located a few kilometers north of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka. It has an interesting history closely related to that of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Being less grand and far more difficult to climb it is often overlooked by tourists. History of Pidurangala flows beyond the 1 & 2 century B.C. Pidurangala was used as a Monastery from those days. But this place becomes a prominent Biddhist Monastery during the King Kasyapa time ( 477 - 495 AC). I guarantee it will be nice trekking. Transfer to Sigiriya Climb the citadel of Sigiriya which was built in 5th century. Sigiriya is treated as one of the most remarkable creations in the world, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). Path through the gardens along Stone stairways come to the Lion Gate. Since 3th century BC the rocky plateau of Sigiriya served as a monastery. In the second half of the 5th century king Kasyapa decided to construct a royal residence here. DAY 6 – Minneriya jeep Safari / Dambulla Cave temple Breakfast at the hotel Minneriya Jeep Safari Minneriya National Park is situated in the north-central plains of Sri Lanka, 20 kilometers from Polonnaruwa. Even though it is one of the smallest national parks. Twenty four (24) species of mammals in Sri Lanka have been reported from this park. The most important of them is the wild elephant (Elephant maximus) the population of which of about 150-200. Minnerya reservoir and its surrounding wetlands habitat is inhabited by large number of a aquatic bird species. Early morning and late evening are the optimum observation of the day for resident and migratory birds. Three species of fishes are endangered out of four endemic species recorded in the reservoir, while the introduced Thilapia species are dominant. Visit, Dambulla Rock temple Dambulla Rock temple was built by King Walagambahu during the 1st Century B.C. Dambulla is a UENESCO world heritage site. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding and the paintings are done on the ceiling.
