DELHI – AGRA (By Surface)
Morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast proceed to discover the history and cultural richness of the capital, Drive past Parliament House and President’s Palace, followed by a visit to India Gate. Then move to Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi Memorial). After paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi drive past Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Then a visit to Qutub Minar (Minaret), which is a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Later in the afternoon drive to Agra, upon arrival at Agra, transfer to hotel, check – in. AGRA (Full Day Sightseeing)
After morning breakfast, proceed to witness the incredible Taj Mahal. Enter the eternal symbol of love and you will appreciate the intricate design and symmetry that rhyme with each other as a love poem. Taj Mahal is an example of grand declarations of love, built by Shahjahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Afterward visit Agra fort, which was built of red stone. AGRA–FATEHPUR SIKRI–JAIPUR
After breakfast awaits departure to the "Pink City" of Jaipur, which is also the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan. The city exudes color, dance and traditional local art. There are several archeological forts and palaces. On the way to Jaipur visit a small town of Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Akbar the Great. JAIPUR(Full Day Sightseeing)
Morning after breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to the Amber Fort, which was built in the 16th century. Here you ride an Elephant which will help you conquer the climb up the hill where the fort entrance is situated. Afternoon visit the city palace complex, which include - a museum, an astronomical observatory Jantar Mantar (UNESCO) and the wind palace from the 18th century – Hawa Mahal. This palace with countless windows and balconies. King had built for his wife to be able to secretly observe the surrounding bustle of the city life around. JAPIUR – JODHPUR(By Surface)
Morning after leisurely breakfast drive to Jodhpur, a city surrounded by rock walls and seven gates and several bastions. Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan. The city was founded in 1459 by King Rao Jodha. The city is sometimes referred to as solar or blue city. JODHPUR-Full Day Sightseeing
Morning breakfast at hotel. Today you spend whole day in Jodhpur and discover its historic beauty. Start sightseeing by visiting the Mehrangarh Fort, which is located on a hill and thus dominates the town. Furthermore, you can expect a tour of the main palaces - Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Daulat Khan and Khan. Nearby is the monument of white marble - Jaswant Thada. After breakfast drive to the city of lakes, Udaipur. Along the way you will visit the famous temple in Ranakpur. They are the largest temples in India at all. After breakfast, visit City Palace from the 16th century. It is one of the largest palace complex in Rajasthan at all. It consists of a residence Maharaja, historic hotels, museums and galleries, courtyards and the main hall where the imperial ceremony held today. Hi Chandra, Yes we have had a great holiday, lots of travel but it would not have been possible to see so many interesting places without. The guides were all excellent but we can't remember their names. If you know who the guide was in Kolkata, he was very knowledgeable and was kind enough to buy us prints of some paintings in the Victoria Museum, now we are home and have a chance to appreciate them. Please pass on our thanks to him for his generosity and wish him well. Just for future reference the drive from Shimla to Amritsar is 9 hours (including 2 short wash room breaks and lunch). Not a problem but you may wish to revise the estimated timing of 6/7 hours. The drivers too were patient and excellent. The Oberoi hotels are so good you expect all hotels to be the same!
