You will arrive at airport and be met by your driver who will take you south to the Dead Sea and Mujib Biosphere Reserve. This wonderful reserve, which ranges from an altitude of 900m above sea level to 400m below, was originally established by the RSCN for the captive breeding of the Nubian ibex, but it also supports a surprising variety of over 400 species of plants (including rare orchids), 186 species of birds and 250 animals. Wadi Mujib, 1 night

After breakfast, you’ll cross the road and follow the Siq Trail (approx 3 hours). The trail follows the river upstream to the head of the Mujib Gorge. You’ll wade upstream, climb up small waterfalls and swim through small pools to reach a 20m high waterfall. You’ll have time for a swim and relax, before returning to the Visitor Centre. You’ll then drive to Karak and have time for lunch and visit to the castle before travelling further down the King’s Highway to Dana Nature Reserve. Overnight at RSCN Rummana Campsite. Read more

After breakfast, your guide will take you on an exciting riverbed hike down Wadi Ghuweir. You will follow the stream down the valley, wading and sometimes swimming through pools of water. Wadi Ghweir is beautiful - at the top there are magnificent formations and colours in the sandstone and lower down there are spectacular hanging gardens of fern and palms. After breakfast, your 4x4 jeep will arrive to take you to the start of the ‘Backdoor hike’. With beautiful views over Wadi Araba, this fantastic hike takes you the backway into Petra, avoiding the 800 steps of the usual route. The guide will show you the way and at the end of the trail you’ll find The Monastery, Petra’s largest monument. You have the rest of the afternoon to explore Petra - the Roman Colonnaded Way, Royal Tombs and of course the impressive Treasury. A walk through the Siq takes you to the entrance. This morning, your driver will collect you and take you north towards Amman. En-route, you’ll stop at Wadi al Heba where your guide will meet you. The trail begins in a small stream and leads to refreshing pools where hikers can jump in and swim. A winding path through magical scenery and lush vegetation leads to a narrow slot canyon with vertical walls, where hikers are lowered 8m by ropes (optional) through an underground waterfall into a natural pool, from which they exit by sliding into another pool.
