This cycling tour is based south from Bordeaux, in the vineyard region of Graves and Sauternes and “Bassin d’Arcachon” (Baye of Arcachon). The Baye of Arcachon is a haven for outdoor-lovers, pine forests, sand dunes, chic towns, historic oyster-farming villages, and cycle trails to discover it all by. On the way, you will have the possibility to taste some red wines, dry white wines and sweet white wines. You will discover some local specialities.
Welcome to Bordeaux, France! Arrival in Bordeaux. Check in your hotel located in the historical city center. The hotel will give you a tour package with instructions and the essentials to have a successful tour (road-book, maps, tourist information...). Overnight stay.
You will have the all day for the discovery of Bordeaux, the city on the banks of Garonne river, listed a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will delight in discovering this remarkable area. Enjoy the walk alongside the banks of the river, discover the "water mirror", relax in a park, climb the 229 steps of the Pey- Berland tower and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the old Bordeaux. You will start your cycling tour by leaving Martillac in the direction of La Brède, do not forget to visit the château where Montesquieu was born. Then you will cross the vineyard of Graves through the villages of Saint Morillon and Saint Michel de Rieufret. You will also see on your way: Château de Roquetaillade, middle age castle.
