2 nights in the capital.

We begin with a walk to Bogotá’s main square, the Plaza de Bolívar and the government buildings around it, before entering the nearby “Candelaria” old town, the colonial center of the city. We will then visit the San Francisco Church and the world-famous Museo Del Oro (closed on Mondays), which contains more than 30.000 pre-Colombian gold artifacts. We end with a trip by cable car to the summit of Monserrate hill, Bogotá’s best-known landmark, with a wonderful view of the whole city and the savanna beyond. Read more

Bogota

Our third day starts with an early morning departure from Bogotá northwards. After 2 hours, we arrive at one of the most significant national monuments in Colombia: the “Boyacá Bridge”. On this bridge Simón Bolívar won his most decisive battle against Spanish settlers. We will visit to Ráquira, a village of quaint and colorful small houses, famous for its pottery and ceramics. Arrival in Villa de Leyva, we will visit the main square and enjoy the magic of this beautifully preserved colonial town. Read more

Transfer back to Bogotá and short direct flight in the afternoon to the Coffee Region. On arrival, transfer to a coffee growing farm located near Armenia where we will spend two nights (breakfast included).

2 nights on a Coffee Farm

After breakfast, trip to the Cocora Valley. With breathtaking landscapes which will be explored by a horse riding or walking trip this is one of the most beautiful places in Colombia. Here we will find the impressive “Palma de Cera”, the Colombian national tree and one of the tallest species of palm in the world. On the way back to Armenia we will visit Salento, a picturesque village in the middle of the coffee growing region. Read more

After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Cartagena and flight via Bogotá to Cartagena de Indias. Welcome by the local travel guide. Transfer to hotel. The remainder of the day will be at the tourist’s disposal.

2 nights in the old center

After a good night's sleep, we will take a half-day tour around Cartagena-- one of the most impressive urban centers in Latin America awaits us. It is an ancient city constructed in the Spanish colonial style and surrounded by high defensive walls. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself falling in love with Cartagena’s intoxicating mix of history and Caribbean charm. The tour takes us around all the historic buildings and plazas of the old city, including the “La Popa” Convent and San Felipe Castle. 3 nights in Panama City

Early in the morning, you will start your sightseeing expedition of Panama’s amazing capital which was founded in 1519. The captivating backdrop of skyscrapers, noble mansions, and green hills will surely fascinate you. The tour begins with a trip to the ruins of Panamá Viejo (closed on Mondays), the country’s first settlement from the 16th century, just outside the city limits. Afterwards, we will head to the old city center Casco Antiguo. Here you find some of the oldest architecture and buildings of the modern city. The area is known as Casco Viejo or Casco Antiguo. During the tour, you will see many unique colonial buildings. Some of those are still largely original and others are nicely and colorfully restored. The historic Casco Antiguo is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has become the center of art, design and cultural development. Many new bars, rooftop terraces, restaurants, and hotels have opened here. Later on, a drive down the Causeway will surprise you with an amazing view of the Panama City skyline before taking you to the Miraflores Locks. Here you will gain a first insight into the inner workings and dimensions of the famous Panama Canal. The observation terrace offers a unique view of the locks and the ships that pass through the locks on their way to the Pacific or Atlantic. The Panama Canal is one of the most important waterways in the world. Each year around 14,000 ships transit through the Canal which is about six percent of the world’s trade. Panama City

The tour starts in the morning with a drive from your hotel to the nearby Soberanía National Park where a short hike awaits you. You will discover the varied tropical flora of the national park, its lush tropical forest and with a bit of luck catch a glimpse of some wild animals. Afterwards, you will head to the port of Gamboa. There you will enjoy a 2-3-hour boat ride on Lake Gatún which is a large artificial lake and forms a major part of the Panama Canal carrying ships for 33 km (21 mi) of their transit across the Isthmus of Panama. The lake was created between 1907 and 1913 by the building of the Gatun Dam across the Chagres River. At the time it was created Gatun Lake was the largest man-made lake in the world. The lake is also important as a reservoir of water for the operation of the canal locks. Apart from the history you will get to know the lake’s biodiversity and maybe see monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, turtles, birds.
