After breakfast, we will head to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible birdlife. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing. After breakfast, we will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports an avast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here. The tour we took with Eco-Africa climbing was actually one of our best experiences during our holiday. Frederick was a wonderful host - very helpful, very friendly and with his eco-african colleague and driver Freddie he gave us some Tanzanian memories we will never forget. He took us to local restaurants and bars, showed us Moshi and drove us to town whenever we needed to go. In the weekend he arranged a trip to Marangu. In the evening we cooked chagga (the local tribe) - food (pork with fried green bananas and salad) great to taste! and next days we went on a coffee-tour to see how you cultivated, dry and roast your own coffebeans, next we went to an underground chagga-cave and last we went to see a very beautiful waterfall! Everything was very well-arranged, and we will definitely recommend everyone to book their kilimanjaro trek, safari, or maybe just a day-tour with the Eco-african company! Read more
