If you are considering a photography tour in Tanzania, you will be either looking to photograph the Wildebeest Migration on the southern plains of the Serengeti in Jan to March (where the grass is green, no dust and plenty of contrast) This makes for an incredible sight on game drives - you can expect to see newborn calves and you might be lucky enough to witness a birth, plus you’re likely to see plenty of predator action.
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro you'll be met and transferred to Arusha town, the safari hub of Tanzania, to spend the night before starting your wet season safari in the morning.
Have breakfast then set off for Tarangire National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in this dense bushland with its huge baobab trees. It’s likely that you’ll encounter elephants and brightly coloured birds who love the dry savannah, as well as gerenuk and eland. Keep an eye out for the park’s tree-climbing lions. Full day game viewing at Tarangire national park, visiting the Silalei Swamp and Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park, which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. The Silale swamp acts as a giant sponge during the green season and slowly releases water during the dry season attracting thousands of animals. In the dry season large numbers of animals congregate along the life-giving river and simply make the Tarangire River and the silale swamp serves as a place of refuge for the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, Greater and lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. After breakfast, we set off for the famous Ndutu Plain, home of the Calving of Wildebeest and Migration. The views are spectacular as you drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a birds-eye view of the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.
Spend another full day exploring the Ndutu plains, enjoying flamingo, cheetah and plains game. There might even be some lingering migratory animals on the plains, and very well-fed cats sleeping the day away.
The area has high densities of cheetahs and lions particularly when the wildebeest inhabit these plains from December to March. There are two beautiful sodic lakes in the vicinity. Being in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) you will be able to drive off road - a great advantage for getting close up to Africa's large mammals! Another full day in the Serengeti to spend with the migration. The herds will be on the move by now and they could be at a completely different place from where they were the evening before. You can stop at the Maasai paintings and Ngong rock, reminding you of the Maasai people’s presence in the Serengeti up to the late 1950s. Read more

Drive back to Ngorongoro Conservation Area,During your drive to the conservation you will have the opportunity to visit the Olduvai Gorge, this is a famous archeological site where a profound history of human evolution was which was discovered by Dr. Leakey (3 million years ago)
We will have a very early start and we will Collect breakfast and lunch boxes, at around 6:40 and descend into the crater for an in-depth exploration of this distinctive ecosystem. Enjoy abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater, the heart of the conservation area. These drives provide one of the best opportunities in Africa to view black rhino, which tend to spend their time on the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors. Another big draw card to this picturesque Caldera, is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, and if Lucky enough you will have chance to see the small cats like the Rare Caracal, Serval cat as well as the african wild cat which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Around 9am we will start our journey back to Arusha. Stop at cultural heritage for lunch and an optional shopping, and then drive to the hotel for a day use room before driving to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight back home.
