A Chaing Mai - Pai - Chaing Mai round circle trip! Stop at an animal friendly farm of elephants, enjoy the waterfalls, go rafting at Tham Lod Cave, bath at hot springs pools, glide from tree to tree at Mae Kampong rain forest. The highlight will be trekking at Doi Inthanon rain forest, with mountains and rice fields. Special for this unique trip will be home cooking a Thai dinner with a real local Thai family. Arrive at Chaing Mai - the north capital of Thailand - around 1:15 flight from Bangkok. Chaing Mai city is less crowded than Bangkok with better weather, famous for their smiling people and great nature that surrounds the city. Our local guide will pick you up at airport (if your arrive before 14:00) and drive you directly to Doi Sue Tep Temple - the most known temple at north, located 1000 meters up in the mountains. In the morning check out from the hotel and drive to the north, where our first stop will be at Eco Elephant Farm - a place where you can learn about the beauty of these animals. The elephants are walking freely and you can play or bath with them. Locals prepare there their own needed medicine. Moreover, this non animal abusive farm allows to ride on the back of the elephants. Our next stop will be at local Hill tribe village - a place where we can learn about the minorities and the daily life of people, also their special culture and history. After lunch we will drive for around two hours and stop at the rain forest and waterfalls Mork Fh. Here you can swim and play in the fresh water all year around. Drive around 1.5 hours and arrive to Town Pai, a small but very authentic town. In the evening you can walk at the local Hill tribe night bazaar. Then you will have dinner on your own. Read more
In the morning we drive further to the north and explore Tham Lot Cave. Take a small boat and get into the cave, famous for its beautiful stalagmites and bats. After this, stop at a Chinese village and learn about the history and relations between China and Thailand. Enjoy the lunch at a special local restaurant and at 16:00 head back to hotel. In the morning check out from your hotel with an assistent of our local guide and start driving back to Chaing Mai. On your way, stop at one of the most surprising hot spring in Thailand - Pong Deud Pai. Relax and bath for one hour, then continue to drive to Chaing Mai. The next stop will be at the orchid farm, where you will take a closer look at the national flower of Thailand. Also visit a butterfly farm nearby, where you can take a close selfie with that amazing tropical insect. You will take the lunch on your way. The tourists that would like to join a tree top activity, operated by the "Flight of Gibbon" can be dropped at the camp and then sent back by joining the transfer of the Flight of Gibbon. In the evening, you will head back to the hotel and will have a free time for the night market. Read more
In the morning drive to the roof of Thailand - Doi Inthanon National Park - located around in a 1.5 hour drive. Drive from Chaing Mai in the mountains - height of 2500 meters surrounded by green rain forest. Then we will visit the twin pagoda at the top of the mountain surrounded by flowers, after which we will start trekking down along the Sirachan waterfalls, to the rain forest and the local rice fields and villagers that grow local coffee. On your way, the local guide will show us and explain about the wild animals at the park and the rain forest vegetation. Following this, you will enjoy the lunch at a local restaurant. Continue for around one hour drive to a home stay in a local family house. Dinner will include cooking with the family. We can walk along there private garden, collect herbs and cook together with the owner and authentic Thai food - fyi - you can have vegetarian food as well if requested. Dinner will be included.
