Today's tour will see you starting at Nijo Castle which is unique in its architecture and contains the infamous Nightingale floor boards which alerted residents that lived there of ninjas/assassins sneaking in. Next, visit the iconic Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji), a must see attraction where the 2 upper
floors are completely covered in gold leaf. The reflection of the golden temple on the lake adds to the stunning sight. Then, visit the Imperial Palace with its sprawling tranquil grounds, meticulously manicured gardens and historical buildings which are still used today when the Imperial family visits Kyoto. After having lunch, head over to the Fushimi Inari Shrine and see some of the 10,000 red torii gates there all donated by its devotees. Sanjusanendo Hall and its mysteriously eerie 1,001 standing Buddhist statues, all immaculately lined up and with slightly different faces await you next. Finally, make your way to Kiyomizudera Temple and enjoy the beautiful vistas of Kyoto from is massive wooden veranda which was built without using a single nail. The 3 streams from the waterfall behind the temple will purify you in different ways. Don't miss out!
