Nubra Valley Trek traverses a historic trade route that connected the Indus and Nubra valleys and was part of the ancient Silk Road network that stretched from India to Central Asia. The trek passes through one of Ladakh's least frequented places. The unspoiled splendor of the terrain, the breathtaking views from the high pass of Lasermo La, and the picturesque valley of Hunder Dok will take your breath away.
Early in the morning, you will arrive in Leh by flight. Meet our representative when you will arrive at Leh airport, then he will transfer you to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Rest and acclimate yourself. In the evening, you will explore Leh’s local market.
This day is dedicated to touring the area’s local monasteries. SheyGompa, near Leh, was formerly the summer residence of Ladakh’s rulers. Around Shey Palace, there are several Stupas and Gompas to visit. This palace was erected in the 17th century by DeldanNamgyal. Thiksey Gompa is around 17 kilometers from Shey. The monastery, which belongs to the Gelugpa order, is regarded to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh. Hemis Monastery is located 45 kilometers south of Leh and is one of Ladakh’s most visited and biggest monasteries. Hemis is a Drukpa-order monastery that was founded in the early 17th century. Today, you will drive to Nubra Valley over the Khardung La pass, which is the highest motorable pass in the world at 5596 metres. Before traveling to Hunder, you will drive to Sumur to explore Samstaling and where you can ride on a double-humped Bactrian camel from Diskit to Hunder. You will arrive at Hunder, where your camp will be. Spend the night in camp. Read more
This morning's trek will begin at Hunder and will cross the river on a large recently constructed road before continuing through a spectacular gorge. After an hour from Hunder, the route turns narrow and steep at Dzongpa. Continue on the route until it reaches its highest point. We next descend to the river to reach Skarchen's campground. Today, the trek will be roughly 2 hours along the river gorge, passing below Wacham hamlet. The route rises steeply to the little settlement of Dok Yogma. You will stroll through their barley fields and along an excellent trail to Hunder Dok (4010m). Your tent is in a village along the river, and you'll be there by noon. You will make your way into Sniu Sumdo valley, stopping just short of a glacial lake (4400m). You will be meeting the local shepherds because there are several grazing meadows. This morning, you'll make your way to the confluence of the Thanglasgo and Sniu Sumdo valleys. You will gradually rise over pasture following a stream for another 4.5 hours to Thanglasgo or a little farther to Jhingmoche (4510m). Shepherds bring their sheep, yak, and Dzomos for grazing during the summer months. These are makeshift cottages, and only 2-3 families from Hunder Do visit each summer. This day, you will begin your walk early and ascend to Lasermola pass (5400m), which takes around 2 - 3 hours to achieve. At the pass, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Karakoram, Ladakh, and Zanskar mountain ranges. Excellent views from every angle.
