On the Fortalez to São Luís deluxe tour, visit the authentic, traditional fishing village of Guajiru. Jericoacoara, the jewel in the crown of the Northeast. Arrival in Fortaleza. Welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel (30 mins). You can use this afternoon to relax. Situated just under the equator, in a definitely tropical zone the Ceará coast, with its turquoise waters and temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees, has a history of almost 300 years and has everything to attract the tourist. An ample infrastructure, 3000 hours of sun a year and a constant breeze to give the full feeling of paradise. In Fortaleza, the wonderful nature is beautiful and impressive. The sun shines all year over beaches stretching 25 kilometres, most of which are equipped to receive tourists. You can go out at night to the bars and lively parties full of typical local music, the forró. Surrounded by modern architecture the buildings make a contrast to the local handicraft fishing boats on the Mucuripe beach. Fortaleza is a permanent invitation to have fun. Brazilian breakfast at the hotel. Start of the adventure in a 4x4 wheel drive or buggy. Departure to Cumbuco. You will pass the Barra do Cauipe, a magnificent lagoon between the sea, pines and palm trees where the kite-surfers are. You will pass the port of Pecém before arriving in Taíba, a village built along one single street, bursting with palm trees and rich houses. You will then follow the beach for 20 kilometers before seeing Paracuru. Lunch option during the excursion (suggestion in Paracuru). Then you will follow a road for around 8 km through fields, with a bridge over the Curu river before regaining the road that leads to Lagoinha. You will arrive in Lagoinha, one of the prettiest post cards of Ceara. Now you are in one of the most beautiful regions of the Nordeste. After 15 km, we arrive in Guajirú. After dragging yourself away from the bewitching sweetness of Guajirú, your ride reserves some unforgettable surprises: Fleixeiras, a paradisical fishing village, practically deserted, with coconut trees, lagoons, reefs, natural pools full of little fish (Guajirú/Fleixeiras - 5 km). Further on we arrive in Mundaú, (Fleixeiras/Mundaú - 13 km) where the river of the same name flows into the ocean in the form of an 8 in the sand, you can climb the magnificent dunes which offer an amazing view point for the area. You then cross the Mundaú river on a small ferry to reach the Baleia beach (Mundaú/Baleia - 8 km) continuing along the beach to Icarai de Amontada (lunch suggested). In Icarai you leave the beach and take the road towards Jericoacoara. Passing through Itarema and Acarau before passing through the fishing village of Prea to find the magnificent beach that leads to Jericoacoara. A truly terrestrial paradise, untouched, Jericoacoara is often considered the most beautiful beach on the Brazilian coast. Giant dunes mingle with fresh or salt water lagoons, caves, cactus, the landscapes is breath taking, the village is caught between the sea and the dunes. Night at Vila Kalango hotel. Read more
Brazlian breakfast at the hotel. Optional activities here: Horse riding along the magnificent Jericoacoara beach; a quad bike ride; a walk to the pierced rock. You will follow the beaches before climbing the cliffs bordered by prairies, then you descend to the Pierced Rock, one of the major sites in Jericoacoara where one often comes to admire the sunset (2hr return trip). Brazilian breakfast at the hotel. Morning free. At 11AM, transfer by buggy to Camocim with a stop at the Tatajuba lagoon (45 min). Then 6 km to reach the ferry in Guriú. After the ferry, we cross a dried mangrove, a strange lunar landscape, before coming back down to the beach that we follow for 8 kms to reachTatajuba village. You will cross grasslands, lagoons and dunes, where you will see donkeys running wild. Then you will cross a large area of huge dunes. Stop at the Funil dune where you can have a great slide on a sledge before arriving at the magnificent Tatajuba lagoon. The huts are standing in water and the hammocks too. The lobsters are freshly fished! Lunch option at Didi's beach restaurant. After lunch, you will cross a large range of dunes before coming back to the sea to arrive in Camocim. Arrival at the ferry to cross the river and go into the town of Camocim. Transfer in a 4x4 to Parnaiba (2h15). Night at Casa de Santo Antonio. Read more
Brazilian breakfast at the hotel. Departure in a 4x4 to join the port of Tatus in Parnaiba (15mn). Boarding in fast canoe to visit the Parnaiba Delta (4hrs). A vast network of islands, dunes, beaches, forest and mangroves interspersed with Igarapes (small river arms) that we can visit by canoe and see the abundant wildlife: caïmans, sloths, monkeys and red ibis. Return to Parnaiba end of the morning to leave for Tutoia in a 4x4. Arrival in Tutóia for optional lunch (1hr30/40 from Parnaiba to Tutoia). After lunch we continue by 4x4 crossing the sertão to the sea which we will follow for about 30 km, super wild and desert landscapes will take you to Caburé (1hr30). In Caburé you will board a motor canoe to go up the Rio Preguiças, where you can see the changing vegetation which happens when we leave the sea to enter the tropical vegetation (1 hour). Stop at Vassouras. The banks of the river will show you all their splendor: mangroves, aguapés, buritis, açaizeiros, coconut trees, tucunzeiros and never far away…herons and king fishers. Arrival in Barreirinhas and night at Porto Preguiças Resort. Read more
Brazilian buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the morning by 4X4 to visit the Lençois Maranhenses (4hrs). Return around 12. «One of the natures marvels, the “Lençois do Maranhão” or the Sheets of Maranhão, a national park that gets its name from the immense dunes that spread out over 1550 km2 and resemble the “Lençois” (sheets). Its features and beauty come from the fact that the desert is sprinkled with clear water lagoons formed by the rain. We can take our time to admire the splendid landscape by walking and swimming here. After lunch, transfer to São Luis. Night at Luzeiros São Luis hotel. Read more

There are more than 3500 historical and artistically unique buildings, retracing the habits of the old rich families of this town.
