Start the Japan Autumn tour at the Tsukiji Fish Market - one of the world's largest fish and seafood markets in the world for the past 90 years, supplying many of Tokyo's restaurants and residents alike with the freshest stock around. Try your hand at a sushi making workshop and then taste your own fresh creations afterwards. Visit Sensoji Temple (Kaminarimon) and Nakamise Market to see one of Tokyo's most popular and colorful temples with a romantic history. The Tokyo Sky Tree is also nearby where you can ascend half a kilometer up into the sky and get views of all of Tokyo and beyond! Next, visit the trendy Harajuku area which is within walking distance of Meiji Jingu Shrine and Yoyogi park. Day 3, you will head outside of Tokyo by bus to the World Heritage Site of Nikko. The rural backdrop provides a stunningly colorful frame for the lavish temples, shrines, ancient bridges and even several waterfalls in this area. Transfer to Hakone with your private guide on your first Japanese Shinkansen Bullet Train ride today. In the Thermal Wonderland of Hakone, is where you'll enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt Fuji in autumn in the near distance. All transportation is included here - Tozan Train, Ropeway, Cable Car, Buses and Pirate Ship across Lake Ashi. See the lush nature in this area fused with the volcanic landscape. Next on your Japan autumn tour, in the evening, enjoy a traditional Kaiseki cuisine dinner while draped in a robe at your Japanese Style accommodations (Ryokan). Transfer to the cultural capital of Japan - Kyoto for the next 2 days by Shinkansen Bullet Train to enjoy the stunning autumn scenery that it can offer. Once there, you will be met with your English Speaking Guide and be whisked away to Kameoka where you will board a Japanese Merchant Boat for an exciting 16km ride down the Hozu River while experiencing exciting rapids and mysterious deep pools through the ravine in the beautiful seasonal scenery. The boat will disembark in Arashiyama which is one of the most popular and beautiful areas of Kyoto for fall foliage. Here, you will see the Togetsukyo Bridge and magical Bamboo Forest. Take a ride on a rickshaw for a little bit of fun! At the end of the forest trail, you will be met with Tenryuji Temple which is the headquarters of the Zen Buddhist Sect in Japan. A small hike from here will lead you to the Monkey Park where 100+ cute but mischievous Japanese macaque monkeys await your arrival. Feel free to feed and play with them. Today, you will spend the morning walking through Tofuku-ji Temple which provides some of the best fall colors in all of Japan. A 15 minute walk away and you will arrive at Fushimi Inari Shrine and its 10,000 red torii gates. After spending time here and enjoying lunch, take a train ride to Nara - the former capital of Japan. Here you will find the massive Todaiji Temple with Buddha statue inside, the beautiful Kasuga Taisha Shrine and the expansive Nara Park with its 1,000 free roaming deer. Read more
Transfer back to Tokyo Station by Shinkansen Bullet Train. Be sure to look on your left side while on the train to catch a final glimpse of Mt Fuji surrounded by the beautiful autumn shades of the tree leaves.
