The Lion Safari trail set up to offer high quality of wildlife experience in different destination. The trail include destinations such as: Savute, Khwai, Moremi Game Reserve, Maun, Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Makgadikgadi Pan and Nxai Pan.
Arrive at Kasane International Airport and meet your guide who will take you through orientation of the trip and then eventually transfer you on 4x4 wheel drive vehicle to Savuti where you will camp for 3nights. Packed lunch will be provided en route.
Savuti is where you will enjoy a great diversity of Plants and animal life, the place have the biggest and largest herds of elephants. Packed lunch will be provided. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.
This is the last day at Savuti. Savuti is a suitable place that no one would like to miss in a holiday trip. It is popularly known for its unique experience of abundance in wildlife species and beautiful landscape covered with mash of grass. Amazing sighting for cats such as lions and leopards has been a memorable experience since the place existed. Old bull elephants are notable and permanently residing in the area. Secretary Bird, Kori Bustard, Carmine Bee Eaters and Fish Eagle are the common highlits birding species in Savuti. All daily meals will be served every day as planned with your tour leader. Read more
Wake up in the morning and have breakfast, then head on to Khwai for another safari experience. We will spend another 3 nights.
This area is reach in ever green trees and wildlife such as predators and prey. Lions and leopards sighting are some of the common game viewing highlights in the area, as well as exceptional birding such as Kingfishers and Wattled crane amongst many.
This area encompasses of wetlands where water based activities are the best to experience the flood plains formed by the presently listed heritage site, the Okavango Delta. We rise early and after coffee/tea and a healthy snack we go on a game drive into the Moremi Game Reserve. A packed lunch will be served at the camp.
Moremi game reserve is located in eastern part of the Okavango Delta. It covers up to one third of the Okavango Delta. The reserve is popularly known for its diverse concentration of wildlife species, birds and rich vegetation throughout the year. The wetlands give an incredible view and spectacular game sighting. The highlights includes; the rare Sitatunga, Lechwe, Lion, Leopard. Large herds of Impala, Zebra and Buffalo normally flock to the beautiful floodplains to drink water. The papyrus along the water ways is normally a home to the Lechwe and is suitable for boat cruise; therefore, a boat cruise is vital to experience more of the uniqueness of delta channels. The Final destination will be in the Xakanaxa region where we explore the surrounding wilderness on morning and afternoon game drive excursions. Xakanaxa is situated at in the heart of Moremi Game Reserve.
Xakanaxa is concentrated with vast of wildlife and vegetation species. Every type of mopane habitat is well represented in this drive from the towering cathedral woodlands Xakanaxa to the classic climax mopane woodland and in the drier and harsher habitats, extensive stretches of scrub mopane. It is a good birding place. A good day for raptors with African Hawk-Eagle, Gabar Goshawk, Shikra, Little Sparrowhawk, Dark Chanting Goshawk, Tawny Eagle, Lesser Spotted Eagle* and Steppe Eagle* all inhabiting the mopane and adjacent woodlands. Other birds common along this route includes most of Botswana’s hornbills including Red-billed, Southern Yellow-billed, African Grey, Bradfield’s and the Southern Ground Hornbills. After Breakfast we depart from Khwai to Maun, where you will spend 1 night at one of the Lodges in Maun. Maun is a small town on the southern side of the Okavango Delta, utilized by many Tour Companies and Safari Operators as the starting point for various kinds of adventures.
After breakfast, we then head to CKGR which is a bit distance therefore; a packed lunch will be served on chosen space. Arrival at CKGR for a mobile camping experience in our luxury tented accommodation
The following morning after having breakfast you will start your game drive to explore the flora and fauna in the reserve.
Central Kalahari Game Reserve is the world’s second largest wildlife reserve. Fantastically remote, with seemingly endless stretches of grassland and sandy desert, the CKGR was originally established as a place for the San to practice their traditional lifestyle without intrusion. Tourism is still developing here and visitors are still few and far between, making it feel truly off the beaten track. Read more
Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and head on to Makgadikgadi Pan National Park for another safari experience. Makgadikgadi pan consists of many large salt pans the largest of which reaches 4,900 km2 - which are seasonally covered in water and grass. Wildebeest, zebra and flamingos congregate on the pans, and ancient baobab trees dot the surreal, salt desert. Packed lunch will be served on a chosen space as you drive to Makgadikgadi. The day begins with a wakeup call and then breakfast served and then head on for the game drive to experience the natural habitat, beautiful land scape and as well as the wildlife. Nxai Pan has is a unique attraction of Botswana located in northern part of Makgadikgadi park. It has a vast of wildlife species that reside in the reserve area. The grass-covered pans are scattered with acacia trees and Mopane woodland, and provide a haven for wildlife when they turn green during the rainy season. Arrive back from Nxai pan to Maun and your guide will transfer you to the airport and then connect. Read more
